The Town Hall is a jewel in Colchester’s crown. From its prominent town centre location, this magnificent Baroque structure with its Victorian tower and statue of St Helena, Colchester’s patron saint, dominates the town.

Nestled within the award-winning Castle Park and approached along a romantic walkway of London Plane trees, the Summer House was built in the 18th Century by Scottish architect Charles Gray to replicate a Roman Temple.

With stunning views across the Park’s magnificent gardens and lakes, this picturesque venue provides the most secluded of locations for your wedding ceremony, reception and photographs.

The Park is renowned for its magnificent gardens which are meticulously maintained throughout the year. Marquees have long been popular to host wedding receptions in the park, part of which is now licensed to host your outdoor civil ceremony.

At Charter Hall we are proud to present one of the largest venues in the county. A popular choice for clientele from far and wide and a favourite for large, multicultural weddings.

The extensive rooms are extremely versatile and easily transformed to turn your dreams into reality. The two main rooms can be combined to guarantee seating for up to 700 guests, with flexibility to segregate for smaller gatherings.

The facilities at Charter Hall are second to none with advanced AV equipment and ample decorative opportunities, plus there are over 500 car parking spaces at the venue.
