For generations, thanks to the considerable social and political influence of the Londonderry family and their circle of friends, Wynyard performed an important role on the world stage, playing host to royalty, aristocrats, politicians, diplomats, artists and writers. Their lives and loves, triumphs and disasters, pleasures and past times illuminate this wonderful house, shedding light on a vanished world. Over 30 years on since Sir John Hall purchased Wynyard Hall, his dream of leaving an enduring legacy of his time at Wynyard has flourished. Wynyard Hall has continued to be one of the most renowned destinations in the North East and what was once only enjoyed by certain members of society, is now available to all. Determined to honour the proud tradition of illustrious predecessors, Sir John Hall and his family are dedicated to the continuing and future success of Wynyard Hall. Their vision, commitment and respect for Wynyard’s history assures its sensitive transformation for the future.As custodians of the estate, it's our job to maintain and evolve this iconic jewel in the North East. We are opening up further land for more public access, restoring and developing buildings around the estate and enhancing the surrounding parkland for wildlife to flourish. The next generation of Wynyard looks towards sustainability, estate-grown produce and is adopting a plot to plate mentality like its predecessors. As a brand, we move forward but honour the legacy of our past.

Paige has worked in the hospitality industry for almost 8 years now, a lot of this has been spent within a very wedding focused venue. She started as a waitress, looking after the many weddings and events held, slowly moving around the departments and progressing as she went. The movement across departments helped her understand the different key components that come together to create such a wonderful customer experience. There’s something magical about planning the most important day of a couple’s life- getting to experience every step with them right up until the moment they walk down the aisle is priceless. I have helped so many couples over the past year to have the most perfect wedding day. The role in itself can naturally be quite intense and stressful, I find being extremely organised and taking the bigger picture into account extremely helpful. My 3 tips for any bride and groom getting married at Wynyard Hall are: - Take every minute in- you will feel like you’ve blinked and it’s over! So take in every little detail and experience on the day, live in the moment from the second your day begins. - Let your master of ceremonies and team look after all of your worries- I know its difficult because its your big day, but try not to worry about what is happening and what needs to be happening. Let our team take on all of your stress and ensure your wedding day runs seamlessly - Ask your photographer to capture “in the moment” photographs – natural images of you both and your guests just enjoying they day! Ask for images to show how amazing your day was as well as some images of you both just being your “usual” selves together as opposed to all posed photographs. Posed photographs are beautiful to look at, in the moment photographs will ignite the memories from the day!
