One of England’s oldest licensed houses, this charming timber-framed inn on the pretty village green has provided hospitality to guests - and royals - since the 14th century with its beautiful stained-glass windows, sloping floors and creaking floorboards in the bedrooms, plus warm oak panels and cosy fireplaces in the Bar and Restaurant.

Immediately opposite the Church, offering stunning photographic opportunities, our beautiful venue lends itself to any theme that you can imagine. Simple, elegant, grand and glitzy all blend timelessly with the fabulous backdrop of the beamed exterior and interior.

We welcome wedding parties and subject to numbers are happy to close our atmospheric Inn to the general public for your special day. We are ideally suited to a guest list of around 100, when for a minimal hire fee and booking of all our rooms as well as our wedding breakfast, we are delighted to offer our luxurious King’s Suite as a bridal suite. We offer discounts for low season and will consider lower numbers for the booking of our restaurant while keeping the bar area open for the general public.

Our wedding package including the extensive food menu showing wedding breakfast and evening buffet options is available upon request. Our comprehensive wine list is also available on request and we will be happy to advise on complimentary drinks to match your choice of food.
