This is a beautiful venue which looks out onto the river Stour in Essex, with marquee, terrace and perfectly manicured lawns.
Providing a magical setting for any wedding, whether dining in the riverside restaurant or dancing in the Marquee on the upper terrace, the setting is picture perfect. The restaurant has a civil ceremony licence for up to 130 people in the River Room. This is a beautiful room which looks out onto the river Stour, terrace and perfectly manicured lawns. By getting married in the River Room followed by a wedding breakfast in the marquee which means that the wedding party has exclusivity of Talbooth Restaurant during the day from their ceremony until early evening.
With the hire charge starting from £1,000, the Marquee on the upper terrace, with its unrivalled position beside the river Stour offers a flexible space and is perfect for an intimate wedding for 50 as well as a larger party for up to 150 guests.

A massive thank you to Jess for all her hard work in the lead up to the day. I don’t think she said ‘no’ to one single request of ours, and was always very efficient at replying, friendly and easy to deal with. She took a huge amount of stress away from the lead up to the wedding and I am incredibly thankful for that as it allowed me to enjoy the weeks before without getting too stressed.
Matt was absolutely fantastic on the day. He looked after us and our guests beyond anything we could have imagined. He was attentive, thoughtful and we both felt so well looked after from the moment we arrived. Little details like saving canapes back for us, checking we always had the drinks we wanted, and checking we were okay with the evening set up etc (which I would have completely missed if he hadn’t showed me) were just small examples of how he went above and beyond to look after us and ensure we were happy with every single detail of our day. There was also a female waitress who’s name I can’t remember who looked after us really well on the day too.
We knew we had picked a special venue but it exceeded our expectations more than we could have ever hoped for!

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the Milsoms team for your work not only on the wedding day but over the last year or so of planning.
I decided on a Milsoms wedding as I have attended many events at the various Milsoms over the years, mainly work related, and have always been so impressed with the service and quality of the food. This could not have been truer for our wedding. Communication during the planning stages and especially in the run up to the wedding day has always been incredibly efficient and the service from the staff on the day was fantastic. A particular mention to the on the day co-ordinator (I believe her name was Emma?) – she was absolutely fantastic; very professional and kept everything running to time etc! I will definitely be recommending Talbooth Restaurant to people for a wedding!
We have had so many fantastic comments on the venue and the wedding breakfast – many people have told us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding, so thank you to all your team for that!
