Situated on the edge of the historic market town of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, our 18th century country house is the perfect wedding location.
Having undergone major refurbishment, the bedrooms, restaurant and event spaces have all been transformed to create a truly stylish and inspiring venue. Our stunning ballroom, the Strathaven Suite, is ideal for weddings, parties and all other occasions and private celebrations.
A welcome retreat for both leisure and business guests, our hotel has 22 bedrooms, free parking and free wifi. It is the perfect base to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. However, should you need to visit Glasgow, it is just a short drive away.

" I can’t begin to explain how amazing they made our day"
We recently had our wedding reception at Strathaven Hotel. I can’t begin to explain how amazing they made our day, everything was perfect and I can’t fault anything. Everyone who attended our wedding commented on how the venue, food and staff were all out of this world. Morgan our wedding co-ordinator was absolutely fantastic she went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect! She is a complete asset to Strathaven Hotel! She kept me calm throughout the day and from the moment we went to visit the venue before booking she was friendly, full of energy and just the nicest person. We didn’t only book Strathaven for the fantastic location, amazing staff, fabulous food but Morgan was a key to this decision. I just knew I couldn’t plan my wedding without her! Strathaven Hotel is somewhere that won’t just be the place we held our wedding reception but somewhere we will visit regularly for food and drinks and overnights. I would recommend Strathaven for anyone thinking of getting married, holding an event or even just for a beautiful glass of wine and amazing food.

"On the day….seamless"
We knew from the moment we stepped in and were greeted by such friendly people this was the place for us. Gillian and Morgan are utterly fabulous at their jobs and so passionate, this does not go unnoticed. Through the planning stages we were kept informed of the ever changing covid regulations and there was no issue or detail too big or too small. On the day….seamless, every single staff member was so attentive and could not do enough for us and our guests. Morgan, Gillian and all the staff were everywhere and go above and beyond. The canapés, the meal and evening buffet….beautiful. It’s always a worry with mass catering, but here every single course was lovely and every single plate was cleared, testament to the chef! You walk in here and you feel like you’re at home, this is credit to Hans and all his staff. Thank you for making our day so special and for the wonderful memories!
