Porchester Hall's grandeur and versatility have seen it play host to concerts from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Kylie Minogue and Pink Floyd; TV broadcasts such as Monty Python’s ‘The meaning of Life’ and Channel 4’s ‘Stand Up for Cancer’. The elegant 1920s building features add a touch of glamour to proceedings, which probably explains why the venue is favoured for weddings, fashion shows and filming. Porchester Hall was opened in 1929 alongside the Turkish Baths and Library. It provided the Borough of Paddington with a dignified Public Hall intended primarily for use by the residents but its beauty and convenience appealed to a much a wider circle.
