Information For Pierremont Hall
Pierremont Hall is owed by Broadstairs and St Peter's Town Council as a community asset building. Meaning any income it generates going back into the community.
Following a refurbishment, Pierremont Hall is now open for public and private events.
Whether you are looking for a venue for a family celebration or luxury wedding, or something a little more formal like a meeting or conference, Pierremont Hall is the perfect place, for any occasion. Throughout the Pierremont’s history weddings were not permitted, until now. The Hall has the option of two different ceremony rooms, perfect for intermittent gatherings or large affairs.Built in 1785 as a private residence, Pierremont Hall has been home to many and is now open to the community for public and private events.
The building is Grade II Listed, located in the heart of town. This newly renovated building is a beacon of history, showcasing the towns historical character. The Hall was built in 1785 for Thomas Forsyth and designed by Samuel Pepys Cockerell. The Duchess of Kent and a young Princess Victoria holidayed at Pierremont in 1826 – 1836. It knew various owners until its sale in 1896 to Leonard Posnett who used it as a school. Most of the original 30 acres of land were developed as housing and the building and remaining park were sold to the Urban District Council in 1927.
Pierremont Hall holds many secret gems on the town’s history. Beneath the grounds of the Hall lays an air raid shelter, designed to hold 150 people who would have accessed the shelters through tunnels all around Broadstairs town, sheltering council employees and the community during raids. These are currently closed to the public but could one day be a great event space.
We also offer the use of our outdoor facilities which adjoin the public gardens surrounding the building. The gardens have helped the town win no less than four South East in Bloom trophies, and contain some interesting specimen plants and trees. There is a children’s playground and a picnic area within the delightful grounds in the center of the town.
At the rear of the Council Chamber Hall, holds charming gardens, recently redesigned with new planting, a pergola and improved seating, and paths. Providing perfect photo opportunity to capture those memorable moments.

I’ve worked in the wedding and events industry for 11 years now and I’ve seen the difference an entire decade has had on the industry. Although getting married may not be on the top of everyone’s list, it doesn’t change the fact that weddings are special days that you never forget. It brings the people you love most in this world, all together to celebrate love. After 2020 I think that this is more important than ever.
