Odo's Barn is a traditional Kentish barn full of character and is a stunning backdrop to your wedding. The oak beams and our spectacular gold chandeliers offer so much warmth and atmosphere.
Our beautiful barn is the perfect blank canvas for your wedding theme. It can be dressed up with lots of detail and decoration or it is equally as stunning with a more minimal theme. You will have access to the barn the day before your wedding to come and set up and decorate and the day after to collect your decorations. There is usually wedding cake as well as flowers to take home too. We always say to couples to come the day before with friends and family and a picnic and really spend time enjoying making the barn your own. It takes the stress out of wedding day and you know that your venue is exactly how you want it to be. This extra day before the wedding and the day after also means that 'your wedding day' that you have been planning for so long is not over so fast and you can really make the most of the wedding weekend. It also means that on your wedding day you can concentrate on getting ready and spending time with your family and bridal party. You can relax into your hair and make up with your florist bringing you your bouquet and the photographer capturing all these details too. We will see in florists and cake makers and any other suppliers to make sure these details run smoothly. We take care of all the behind the scene details including setting out the tables and chairs etc. and liaising with the caterers to make sure they have all they need. Caterers: We work with fantastic local caterers whose food we know and love. They will create a menu especially for you and your guests and you can have great fun not only choosing the menu but having your very own tasting too before the wedding too! Wedding breakfasts are generally seated in the barn (unless you opt for a festival style wedding with street food) with more informal food in the evening. Wood fired oven pizzas, hog roasts, fish and chip vans, taco stalls, paella pans, grazing tables to name but a few are so popular in the evening. There is so much choice it's hard to choose. Pagoda Marquees: These are included in the venue hire and they cover our south facing terrace. From here guests will be able to see and join in the group photos after the ceremony. The covered terrace is ideal for drinks after your wedding ceremony, throughout the day and offers a quieter space during the evening. Evening food from your caterer can be served on the terrace or if you are having a van/hog roast for your evening food, then it is perfectly located close to them. Drinks and the Bar: We are a fully licensed venue and work closely with you to select the perfect drinks for your wedding. After your wedding ceremony, drinks will be ready for your guests to enjoy along with canapés from our caterers. Prosecco and Pimms and ice cold bottles of Peroni are the most popular drinks but we can offer you cocktails or any selection of drinks to suit your guests. We serve water with fresh lime, mint and ribbons of cucumber in our kilner jars and also have lovely kilners of fresh strawberries in sparkling elderflower for non drinkers. Our bar is not only eye-catching with it pretty hanging bulbs and kentish hops but serves a large selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. For your wedding breakfast wines we have a wine list for you to choose from but also offer corkage should you wish to bring your own wine or sparkling wine or champagne for your Toast. Photos opportunities: We have plenty of picturesque spots for you and your photographer to use. We have a lovely medieval moat complete with ducks, established gardens with gazebo, lovely meadows with beautiful trees and far reaching views of the Romney Marsh. There are also plenty of fields with crops you can use plus sunset photos are perfect in the cricket field next to barn where the Bilsington Monument stands. This monument is unique to our village and makes for an excellent back drop for photos. Music: The acoustics in the barn are fantastic and whether you choose a DJ or a band the atmosphere will be amazing. Live music for your ceremony and drinks reception is a lovely detail too and if you need any help sourcing suppliers, we are always happy to help.
