The North Lakes Hotel and Spa is located on the edge of Penrith, the picturesque market town in Cumbria’s Eden Valley. Easily accessed from the M6 motorway, this four-star hotel is the ideal location for your wedding as it also offers a base from which to explore the stunning Lake District and enjoy the award-winning Spa and some fabulous pampering.
Relaxation begins the moment you walk through the door at North Lakes Hotel. Part of the House of Daniel Thwaites collective, the hotel’s design is inspired by the Cumbrian countryside and reflects the rural heritage that makes the region so well known.
The hotel’s relaxed ‘country retreat’ feel extends to the Spa, which features exposed wooden beams, low lighting and comfy seating areas. The hotel’s Spa also offers six treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and a fully equipped gym with Technogym equipment. Treatments use glamorous French skincare brand Caudalie; a range that combines the latest scientific cosmetic techniques with the ancient secrets from family-owned vineyards in Bordeaux. Guests who book direct are able to enjoy full use of the spa and wellness facilities and the hotel also offers a range of Spa Break packages.
North Lakes is also home to the unique dining experience that is FYR, Cumbria’s only open fire grill restaurant. Every cut of meat is aged for a minimum of 28 days and cooked to the diners’ exact specifications - right in front of them. Whilst the sizzling steaks are the speciality, guests can also enjoy grilled lobster, an array of vegetarian dishes and a superb Sunday lunch.

Jen is an experienced wedding co-ordinator who is passionate about weddings, and loves nothing more than helping our couples achieve their perfect wedding, not only the wedding day itself but also any pre or post celebrations you may wish to arrange. A real planner, Jen particularly likes weddings that are a little bit different and works together with you throughout the planning stages and on the day itself to ensure you have your wedding, your way.

With the restrictions we only had 6 guests for our special day but this was matter less as we were made to feel like VIP’s within the beautiful surroundings of North Lakes Hotel.
The function room was set out creating a warm and intimate atmosphere much more than we could ever have hoped for.
Anyone looking for a venue and wondering if this is the place….IT IS!

From the moment we walked into this hotel at the start of 2018 we knew it was where we wanted to get married.!! We had an appointment with Jen Braithwaite and booked it pretty much straight away.
We got married on 21/09/2019 and what a day it was, everything and I mean everything was done exactly how we wanted it.!! There wasn’t one issue with the whole day, from the ceremony all the way through to the night everything was perfect..
Jen Braithwaite is amazing, throughout the whole planning she was there, if I needed to ask something so small she was there, she took every tiny detail down and made sure the pressure was off myself and my husband and straight onto her. We wanted a white aisle runner Jen found us one, we wanted classy and elegant Jen helped us achieve that.!! The food on the day was beautiful even down to the presentation, words cannot describe how perfect everything was and just how we had imagined our big day.
A massive thank you to everyone at North Lakes Hotel and the biggest thank you to Jen for making our dream wedding become a reality.!!

All the staff were so accommodating, kind and helpful and we couldn't have wished for anything more perfect. Nothing was too much trouble- from the chef's personalising menu's to all the help booking rooms from the office team.
Thank you Jen for all the very helpful pre-wedding meetings too. All in all we had a wonderful experience- one we'll never forget.
