Lea Rowing Club is a successful and vibrant, British Rowing affiliated club, its heritage dates back to the 19th century.

Despite its location, perched between the vibrant east London boroughs of Hackney and Waltham Forest, Lea Rowing Club feels close to wilderness, directly overlooking a tranquil stretch of the River Lea and surrounded on all sides by ancient marshland.

Recently renovated, the club’s beautiful Boathouse offers a series of complementary spacious areas, perfect for holding a celebration or wedding reception.

The main hall is light and airy, and offers great ceiling heights. The space can hold up to 130 people seated for dining or 200 standing guests. It boasts a clean, modern and minimal backdrop to your celebration, and is fully air-conditioned with a large dance floor.

The two additional rooms – the L shaped bar and study – boast bags of character and are located to the rear of the venue, sharing a huge private balcony with stunning views over the River Lea and Walthamstow marshes beyond.

Hi there, Thanks for taking a look. We We are beautifully located with our bar and extensive balcony overlooking the River Lea. Our recently refurbished light and airy clubhouse offers an ideal and flexible setting whether it be dry hire or you could take advantage of one of our all-inclusive packages, bring your own caterer or use one of our house caterers. You can even hold the ceremony here. We have a fully stocked bar, a great wine list and are licensed until 12.30am with the building open until 1am. We had a wonderful wedding party
We had a wonderful wedding party at the Lea Rowing Club in June. It was perfect for our party of 80 friends and family with great catering available, a charming bar and club house and wonderful balconies with views over the river. Everyone who came loved the venue and the secret charm of this spot in London. A great find for an event.

The room looked lovely with the fairy lights, it all worked very well, Francisco provided good food and Pedro did a good job at the Bar. The wines were praised, so thanks to his suggestions, and the Champagne was generally very much appreciated. With best wishes

It really was perfect for our event and day
I particularly wanted to thank you for the bar staffs fabulous work on the night, you looked after us brilliantly and whilst a lot of people commented on how great the venue was and looked, quite a few friends said how fantastic the staff were - and you looked after us a treat, handed over bubbles at all the right moments and were a joy.
