Situated in Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire, Glen Tana is a unique wedding venue that offer complete exclusivity amongst some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery.
At Glen Tanar we are pleased to cater for weddings of all sizes. Catering for small intimate weddings to the grand. Whether you are looking for a winter wedding or outdoor we have something to suit all.
Our newly renovated Coats Room is now available for small weddings. With space to seat 20 for dinner, this atmospheric venue has been created from the sensitive restoration of a former carpenter’s workshop.
Grab a breath of fresh air and take a newlywed wander across our large, lawn and through ancient Scots pines, while your photographer captures the moment on camera.
While we can’t promise snow, we can promise the grandeur of our magnificent Victorian Ballroom, widely regarded as one of Scotland’s finest wedding venues, and beautifully adorned with festive decorations fit for the occasion.
With capacity to seat 160 guests, the spacious Ballroom transforms into a cosy setting for winter weddings, and boasts an exquisite grand piano, perfect for any musical interludes you may have planned for your special day.

I love helping couples with all aspects of planning their dream wedding from start to finish. Coming from the local area I can recommend the area’s best suppliers from florists and photographers to caterers and cakes, as well as pipe bands, fireworks and everything in between!

Phenomenal place to get married without question! We booked our wedding approx a year in advance along with 8 cottages on Glen Tanar Estate: Butlers Lodge, Woodend, Garden Cottage, East and West Millfield Cottages, Rowan Cottage, Braehead and Birkelunn, due to the number of our guests we also had to book 3 cottages offsite as well as to full hotels in Aboyne. Due to us living in Leicester Shona was just amazing and perfect. She goes way above and beyond helping with all requirements, I honestly believe that if we asked her for the moon Shona would of found a way to make it happen! The Ballroom and grounds are truly a magical place to get married but couple that with Shona and you have an out of this world place to get married, Shona is one hell of a lady, nothing is beyond her reach in ensuring you receive the best and beyond for your wedding. All of our guests love the cottages/lodges and all would/will be staying there again In the not to distant future. I would like to thank everyone at Glen Tanar and especially Shona for making our wedding truly amazing & beyond anything we could of dreamed of! I would recommend cottages and ballroom to anyone in a heartbeat - once again thank you Glen Tanar for (what a lot of our guest said) the wedding of the century
