We booked Flixton House for our wedding at the end of July 2023. The staff, Debbie & Jo, were very helpful to show us around, discuss our plans and talk through what was possible. They helped us to create a wonderful day that was well organised and ran perfectly.

It's important to know that as a building of local historic interest owned by the council, there are some things that make it different to other places you might choose.

The maximum capacity for you and your guests for an event is 100 people. That worked for us for the ceremony but meant we held a separate party elsewhere: the gardens are a public space so there is no option to have a marquee or gazebo to extend the space for guests.

Flixton House has its own suppliers for food and drink. The drinks packages are very reasonable and if you have any specific requests, the team will happily source what you are after, again, at a very good price. Their caterers are C&C and can offer you traditional menus for sit down meals as well as plenty of little extras to fit around a party. All our guests commented on how delicious, fresh and hot the food was.

Flixton House works as a beautiful blank canvass: you can dress the rooms as you like, bring in your own florists, photographer, DJ, entertainment etc. and the staff will help draw up a plan to work with your suppliers and order the day.

We would absolutely recommend Flixton House and their team for parties and weddings. We received a really personal welcome and service from the first look-around right through to the day itself.

This wasn’t a wedding, it was the celebration of my Mum’s life; I wanted to praise the staff for the care they gave us.
We hired Flixton House to hold the Celebration of my Mum’s Life yesterday, on what would have been her 86th birthday. She had died during lockdown, and decided she didn’t want a funeral, because only 10 people could attend. We planned the event together, before she died, and she wanted us to hold it on her birthday.
The staff there were amazing, completely understood what we wanted, made some great suggestions, and met our every request, even ordering some items specially for us in the run up to yesterday.
I took Mum’s cake stands and knives with me, the day before, as well as the cakes she loved to bake, and the staff carefully looked after her things Debbie even fixed the Red Velvet cake that had t quite survived the car journey!
During the Celebration, the staff were so sensitive to us, checking when we wanted the teas and coffees making, and were so unintrusive as they came in and out of the room.
If you’re looking for a venue where you’ll be treated with respect and care, Flixton House is the place to go!

Paul and I were married last May at Flixton House. Joanne made us feel completely at ease and we were able to personalise our wedding package however we wished. Flixton House felt like our home for that weekend! The staff were friendly and helpful and Joanne ensured that everything went smoothly. The venue looked beautiful and we were able to open the French doors in the evening so guests could move from inside to outside. We had a delicious main followed by a lovely dessert of afternoon tea with pretty china, care of Alice's Pantry and Joanne also arranged the excellent DJ. Flixton House is a lovely, intimate venue for a wedding and it benefits from being able to have the registrar conduct the wedding ceremony on site. There is also easy access to a variety of hotels/ b+bs etc. We felt it was excellent value for money compared to many other venues. Just wish we could do it all again! Many thanks, Sarah and Paul xx

My husband and I recently got married at Flixton House. We can't thank Joanne enough for all of her hard work from start to finish helping us to prepare and organise for the big day. A stunning Grade II listed building great to hold our wedding ceremony and reception there. The bar staff, DJ and chef were all incredible. All of our guests complimented the wedding buffet saying it was the nicest they'd had. Thank you for helping our day be even better than we could've imagined xx
