Set in beautiful, peaceful grounds and surrounded by history, Basing House is the perfect place to hold a unique wedding ceremony, civil partnership and/or reception celebration.
Basing House has two charming wedding settings, the Tudor Great Barn and meadow and the Garden Museum and Knot Garden. Both are licensed for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies.
Offering wedding ceremonies only, wedding ceremonies and receptions or receptions only, Basing House offers flexibility and exclusivity for all couples and is available for hire every day from April – October.
We operate a dry-hire package currently which we believe is a budget friendly option, open to your choice of suppliers from catering to entertainment.
With only one wedding per weekend, you are guaranteed our full attention and excellent one-to-one service.
Basing House is a pet friendly site so you don't need to leave your four-legged friends at home.

Stunning Basing House
This historical landmark is one of the most scenic and beautiful venues I've ever seen while also keeping a relaxed and chill vibe. It's super flexible to suit whatever your needs are, and you're supporting charity when you book it!
The wedding coordinator and venue manager have both been extremely helpful over the full 3 years we have had this booked. They have always had time for us and invaluable advice and guidance.

Wonderful venue
Basing House is an utterly beautiful venue and were so excited to have our reception here next year! Hannah (the wedding co-ordinator) has been wonderful and gone above and beyond helping us find suppliers etc. We love the grounds and the barn itself and were so pleased to find a space where we can have a proper barn dance !
