Badgers Holt is stooped in history, staring its life as a Fishing Lodge, then a Bakery and in recent years a riverside restaurant and tea rooms. It is only very recently that Badgers Holt has opened itself up as a Wedding Venue for couples to get married in this natural beauty spot in the heart of Dartmoor.
Since getting our Wedding licence just over a year ago we are excited to invite couples to enjoy this lovely space. It is a special location for couples who share our love of the River Dart and all Dartmoor has to offer. It is the hidden gem of Wedding Venues.

Myself and my husband took over Badgers Holt 4 years ago and sitting alongside the River Dart with the festoon lighting in the heart of Dartmoor we both felt it was the idillic spot for couples looking for a rustic, natural and more laid back wedding. In truth we felt our location deserved to be shared and enjoyed by others. I would be delighted to chat to you informally about our venue and your dream wedding. We have a flexible approach here so are happy to take the lead or let you guide us in what you would like to make your day the way you want it. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Badgers Holt Dartmoor Reviews
We loved that Badgers Holt is located in the middle of Dartmoor, surrounded by nature, including lots of cute animals on the grounds, and a picturesque river alongside it. The venue itself was perfect for a rustic, autumn wedding (with our own alternative/gothic touches added!). It feels intimate and cosy inside, with lovely views of the grounds and river through the large glass doors that we got married in front of. There's also the option of having the ceremony outside. We booked both our ceremony and reception here, which was exactly what we were hoping for, we wanted everyone to be able to stay in the same place all day/night. We stayed overnight in their honeymoon suite, which is lovely and recently redecorated.
We were in regular contact with Emma & the team up until the wedding day, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were made to feel so comfortable and welcome every time we visited, Emma was our main contact and she is SO lovely - very professional but also like a caring friend the best combination. We had a few problems with suppliers, and Emma was always keen to try and help us solve any of the issues. She/ the team were also available and very helpful on the day itself.
We hope to be able to come back and visit as we love it there so much!
So far Emma has been really helpful and able to answer all my questions (and there have been a lot) along the way. Really looking forward to the wedding next July.
