We have been providing cheese wedding cakes for over a decade. We understand the cheeses which work well together to make a balanced and nicely tiered cheese cake. We know what tastes superb and how to help you make your cheese cake look stunning. We know it needs to feed a whole range of guests with differing tastes and can help if you want something truly unique. We pride ourselves on supplying great artisan cheese in prime condition coupled with great customer service. We won’t let you down, we know that your Wedding day is the most important day of your life and we are here to help you with your cheese cake every step of the way. If you are unsure which cheese to choose, just make an enquiry with us and receive a cheese sample box of your chosen cheeses from £33.99, this includes postage. We will also refund you £10.00 when you place your cheese wedding cake order with us. This includes up to five cheeses. If you are unsure and want to try a range, then we charge a small additional fee of £3.50 per cheese thereafter. We send our boxes via courier service, therefore somebody will need to be in to sign for the order. We deliver Tuesdays – Fridays, simply specify your required delivery date at checkout. We’ll help you select some of your favourites but also make sure you have a good balance and contrast for variety. We try and use farmhouse and artisan cheeses where possible and can recommend a selection which includes some traditional farmhouse favourites. We are more than happy to offer alternative selections, we have a wide range of cheese available to us, so if you’d prefer something more traditional on your cheese cake or if you can’t see a cheese you like, we are happy to help and advise on how to achieve this. We can change just one cheese or offer a completely bespoke cake unique to you and happy to help you create this. We suggest when choosing the amount of cheese you need, that approx 70 – 100g of cheese per person is ideal for an after-dinner course. If it is the main attraction then allow at least 100g and a little more. Please do try and give us a minimum of at least two weeks notice so we can ensure the cheeses are ordered and arrive with you in perfect condition ready for the big event. However, we do send out many cheese cakes and try and have a selection of cheeses available so we can do all we can to accommodate short notice requests without compromising quality. On the other hand, if you’re ultra organised, feel free to place your order well ahead of your wedding date. You can specify any date in our special instructions box at checkout. We’ll always email and confirm your order and delivery date and safely book you in. We’ll also be back in touch a little nearer the time to assure you, you are in safe hands. If you prefer, and to help with budgeting, you can call and we can simply take a £50 deposit with the remaining due just prior to dispatch. You can also email us and pay via BACS. We offer nationwide delivery and can deliver to your home, caterer or chosen venue. We like to deliver our wedding cheese cakes at least two days before the event. So, for weekend weddings, we would look to deliver on the Thursday at the latest but can accommodate any date you choose prior to this. We deliver Tuesdays – Fridays. We send all parcels by overnight next day courier and our standard delivery charge is £8.99 within the mainland. We can offer a timed before mid-day service if needed at an additional charge. All our parcels can be tracked and we offer a text prediction service, so by supplying a mobile we can send a text on the day of delivery advising the hour in which your delivery is due. We can also deliver to the Highlands and Islands, so if your wedding is in the Scottish highlands or Isle of Wight, then we will need to quote for this accordingly, as some of these addresses will need a two-day delivery service. All our Wedding Cheese Cakes and Cheese & Pork Pie Cake orders are packaged in simple brown outer boxes with special ice packs to preserve the cheese temperature and keep everything cool for up to 48 hours. They will either be in one of our branded boxes or will clearly have one of our branded stickers along with 'please refrigerate upon arrival' on the box, so if delivering to an alternative address, it should be clear the parcel is from West Country Cheese. We use either bubble wrap for our larger cheese cake orders or paper straw for protection in transit unless otherwise stated.
However much we'd like to get your order delivered stacked and decorated this isn't feasible. All the cheeses and pies will be individually wrapped and clearly labelled, so easy to handle and unpack. All your decoration and anything else that you have added to your order will be included in the box. For all our cheese cakes, a spec sheet is included which gives a picture of your cake (or if bespoke, one as close as possible) along with a list of your cheeses and assembly instructions. Do talk to your venue or chosen family member or friend about assembling and decorating your cake on the day. All cakes are delivered at least two days prior to the big event. You will need to ensure that you or your venue can keep your cheeses (and pies) refrigerated for the duration until the big day. Each of the cheeses are individually wrapped and can stay this way until the day of assembly. Unwrap the cheeses on the day and assemble and decorate at your venue. The cheeses will sit quite happily somewhere cool for four to five hours. Allow a minimum of two hours out of the fridge before serving to allow these larger cheeses to come up to room temperature.
