Always do the cake cutting just prior to the first dance. That way it's not stop and start for the audience and things flow nicely and have a logical progression.
Always book a DJ alongside your band. The course of an evening reception is typically six hours long with a band covering just one third of that so getting the right DJ is crucial.
Always speak to your band/ artist or DJ about the music you want. Little details like the last three songs of the night are always good to know so you can end on a high!
