Venues Tips

Try and view a wedding at your venue before you commit to having yours there!

Make sure from the outset that you have a good rapport with the staff from your venue. You may fall out of love with the venue if it's difficult to deal with the people.

To save money create your own favours and table decorations

Never get nervous for your big day, just be excited

Always plan ahead. It may seem like your wedding date is in the very distant future, but it will come around quicker than you think. Avoid stress by booking your venue early.

Take Your Time to plan Your Wedding If you keep you two at the centre of every decision, it will be the most memorable day of your life, this is a celebration of your love and future together

Never be afraid to ask a question just because you think it may be 'silly'. We get asked all sorts in wedding co-ordination and most of them will be sillier than yours.

Be organised, folders and books are useful to keep everything together, but don't make it complicated. Its your dream day not a military operation.

To get better value for money consider getting married on other days of the week. Friday and Sunday weddings have become very popular and usually come with a discount!

A fully inclusive wedding reception package means no hidden extra's on your bill. Check to see what is included to ensure you keep within your budget.

Remember its your day!, not your mums

Experienced venues have the know how when it comes to making decisions to suit - the hotel's wedding co-ordinator will help with not just your venue questions but other elements of planning your day.

Make evening guests feel special when they arrive, e.g. save the cutting of the cake until the early evening (before the first dance) so they are involved with some of the ceremonial parts of the day

Try not to stress. Remember your wedding is about you as a couple. Have trust in the team around, they will do their job well!

Don't waste money on things you can do your selves .

Keep calm and only involve people who help keep you calm. Its your day so if your big sister/mother in law/friends stresses you out then find a job for them that doesn't get them in the way.

If you want something a little different for your wedding reception breakfast consider a Vintage Afternoon Tea - scrumptious scones, cream, finger sandwiches & cakes, whats not to like!

Take a look at venue brochures before viewing any

Remember, you are not getting married to impress a room full of people, you are getting married to make the person you love your husband/wife.

Keep it simple – if you get caught up with the minor details, you can overlook the important tasks.
