Hi, My back wisdom tooth is coming through and no matter how many times I brush my teeth, food gets trapped and it smells (embarassing I know). I dont really want to be chewing gum on the big day (wont look very elegant) and I dont feel as if mints help whereas chewy which I cant take does. Any solutions? I am going to take one of the small brushes for cleaning braces and try to have a good scrub in the area in the morning

Not 2 sound rude but have u tried mouth wash? It def helps with me cause sometimes the smell might be coming from your gums moreso than the tooth! I have a real thing about my teeth and I've def noticed a difference using dental floss recently as well! U can get wee tiny packets of floss and mouthwash like wee travel 1s for hand luggage plus they do wee menthol breath sprays in most chemists and even in some local shops, usually around the tills, they would fit in a small handbag and would be easy to pop in and out of your bag after your dinner or whenever u feel the need to use them!!

Suzky, I'm having the same problem. One of my wisdom teeth has come through with a hole in it. As you say, food gets trapped. I have to remember to pick it out every time I eat. I'm going to the dentist on Thursday to ask them to remove it, but I guess it's a bit too close to the date for you to do that!

Mouthwash should really help, as that controls the bacteria that causes the smell. Drink plenty of water and swill it before swallowing. Also, have to come across those melting mint strips that you put on your tongue and they dissolve, I've not had them for years, but they used to be sold next to gum in the shops.

Actually mint sometimes makes your breath smell worse.

Think cheap airfreshner and really smelly poo (not that your breath smells of poo) but they mingle and smell worse.

Try something a bit stronger tasting like aniseed or fireballs.

I'm taking breath mints, but in your case, why not just take one of those travel toothbrishes and toothpaste sets with you. You could excuse yourself after the meal and give your teeth a quick brush.

I think OWB has a god suggestion for the swilling water round your mouth before you swallow, I'd see if you can store some mouthwash somewhere or take some gum and have a quick chew when you go to the ladies so people dont have to see you chewing?

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
