Hi, I'm a little confused. Our colour theme is royal blue so h2b and best man will be wearing this colour cravat/tie. Are ushers and my dad meant to be in the same? And if my dad wears the same would h2b's dad have to match too? I've not given suits etc a lot of thought but now I'm thinking this could get expensive! Xx

The men wearing suits at mine are h2b, his bro and son (both best men as his son is only 12),my three sons and my stepdad. Don't think h2bs father matters if they match.

Think I may have h2b in white too so he's a bit different. Suppose I should see what he wants to do! Thanks ladies xx

its up to you what they were. my colour is aqua/turquoise blue and silver, the men are all having the same suits and all having silver waistcoats all the men are having the blue cravats and hankies apart from my h2b who is having silver cravat and hankie just so that he is the only one diffrent, we were going to have our little boy matching with silver cravat but the blue just looked so nice! they can all have the same if you prefer then the groom just gets a larger button hole, or you can make him stand out with a diffrent waste coat x
Ours is all mixed. H2b will be wearing his uniform, his son and bil will be wearing a suit with our colour scheme incorporated and my Dad will be wearing a kilt.
I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I was told that the best man should wear the same as the groom as in old traditions if the groom was a no show, the best man would marry the bride...i have warned H2B to show up!! But yes best man wears similar to groom and groomsmen are less special so a lil more plain

Well it seems there's no set tradition which makes me feel better about not getting it wrong. I am actually considering letting the men go themselves and see what they end up with! Xx

We had royal blue as well. Husband was in black mourning suit, ivory waistcoat, royal blue cravat and handkerchief (hired) and the best man, usher and my dad wore matching black suits (not mourning suits), without waistcoats but with matching royal blue ties. We bought these as 1) they were half price in Greenwoods and 2) it was something they could keep afterwards. Husband's dad wore his own suit which wasn't matching (but not really part of the wedding party so it didn't matter).

My oh will be wearing his navy uniform. It means I don't have to worry about matching. Mind ou there will only be 2 other men there!

my H2B and best man are wearing same colour cravats as my dress which is burgundy they are in edwardian coats and my son who is giving me away and the ushers are wearing morning suits with pink cravats which is the colour of the bridesmaids hoping they all look ok my sister and niece pick the colours I'm hopeless at trying to match things lol

Ours is Turquoise and silver, so all the male's of the bridal party - OH, BM, FoB, brother, OH's brother and nephew plus maybe 1 other usher, will all be in grey suits (not sure what style yet), silver patterned waistcoats & then silver cravats/hankies and then OH and possibly BM will be turquoise cravat/hankie... not 100% sure on what the BM will be in yet! But all for personal choice! Most common ive seen is groom and best man match, and everyone else diff, or everyone the same and Groom diff.... up to personal preference...what would your OH prefer? x

We had suits and cravats for groom, best man & person giving me away. We bought ties in matching colors for groom's father and ushers so they wore their own suits but tied in with our color scheme ... saved us having to hire another 5 suits

I thought all the ushers, bestman etc matched and the groom was the one who was a bit differnt so he stands out as the groom?
