I'm set on having an ivory dress - I'm sure there's no way I can carry white with my skin tone! The problem being that when my brother got married, my SIL said that her veil (which is gorgeous!) would be passed round her new sisters if we wanted it as she is an only child - but I'm sure that her veil is white! Can I get away with mixing the two for this?? My baby sister got married last year and didn't use it, and my other two sisters aren't likely ever to marry, so feel that really I ought to say yes...

I have never seen the two together babe but in all honesty I'd say probably not, they'd have to match I would think.
although my dress is apparently ivory but looks white to me! I guess depends on the shade, try it together x

say youd love to try it on with your dress to see if they go together. you might decide no to a veil all together as it might just look too much.

See if you can borrow and try it on with an ivory dress.. if they dont go then make your decision which is most important

Im having the same problem actually hun. My best friend has said I can borrow her veil as my somthing borrowed, but my dress is ivory and Im not sure its gonna go. Its a very beautiful veil. But I just said to her that I will try it with my dress and see how it looks. I will have my mum with me when I try it coz I know she will be honest with me. Just try it hun, see how it looks.

i would have to say no also i think that they need to match. a veil should complement your dress thats the ultimate decider. i hope you get something sorted with hurting her feelings x

Thanks guys. I really don't want to say no unless I have to, but I'm also adamant that this will be my one and only wedding, so everything does need to be just right!

i would say no to a white veil with an ivory dress in theory, but i guess it depends on the individual shades as to how noticable it would be. my dress is white and the chair covers that come with our venue are ivory. i was stressing that i would match the chairs until someone kindly pointed out, how often to look to see if someones dress is the same colour as the chair covers?? lol. but a dress and a veil are very close together so people would probably notice a bit more x

I'd say you'd love to try it hun but will be dependent on if it goes with your dress (then you save her feelings!). It really will be dependent on the shade as you might find it looks great and you can't even notice the difference.... give it a bash hun and just be honest if it does go she'll understand xx

I wanted to wear my mum's white veil with my dress which is ivory and it just didn't go but I still say try it first and see. Luckily for me the dress shop had the perfect veil to go with it

Is the veil diamond white or an off white - if its diamond white I dont think it would match but i would say for you to try it on together so that you can see what its like! good luck with whatever you decide! xxx

I was always told if you dont match colours it will look wrong. E.G white veil males a ivory dress look dirty.
