    Help please ladies,

It's just occurred to me that I don't know what happens to the bridesmaids after they've walked down the aisle?!

I have 6 bridesmaids, 3 flower girls & a page boy, so quite a lot to fit in...

My friend says they stand at the front & another says they sit on the front row, but my OH, BM, FOB etc will be sitting on the front rows. I can't have them stop before the end of the aisle to sit on the second row back...can I? And OH doesn't like the idea of them standing at the front, half facing the guests, half facing me & OH.

    What do you suggest? Xx

So did you/they stop before they got to the bottom of the aisle to slide n one of the rows?

I haven't been to many weddings, especially not ones with a big bridal party xx

When I was bridesmaid, we all went to the front and stood there while the bride came down the aisle. When they said the guests could sit we sat at the front row. X

That's what I was on about Helen, think it might look nice if they stood at the front, I just don't know really.

Just wondered what everyone else thought xx

Sometimes the bridesmaids, at least the adult ones, stay at the front, either facing the congregation or facing the front. Sometimes they sit on the front, although potentially the MOH may stay standing a bit longer. For me my parents will be on the front, and bridesmaids and one pageboy on the front and second rows. The little flower girl and little pageboy can join their parents. I'll have everyone walk to the front and wait until I'm there, and then once the congregation sit they can take their seats.

Mine sat in the front row on my side. When I've been a bridesmaid I did the same. Some weddings though I've seen they stand at the front for the entire ceremony or sit in the choir seating at the front of the church. Guess there is no right way to do it as there are so many ways xxx

I sent my mum in ahead to make sure front rows were kept empty for bridal party - she didnt and husbands family sat in front row on my side - when registrar noticed (before I was in there) she moved everyone to clear front row for BM, MoB and son giving me away. Although I wanted it that way, she had decided herself that's how it should be :-)
I wanted all girls on my side and all boys (ushers/page boy/BM etc) on husbands side in front rows - the boys ended up all over the place

I'd probably say they should be on the front or second row :)

I think it's completely up to you where you have them! When I was a bridesmaid for my cousin we all stood up the front with them and had the 3 flowergirls stood in front of us. One of them was only little and was ripping her bouquet apart and handing me the petals!

Depends on what you want, im having a rehesal the eve before so everyone knows what there doing, I think it depends on the venue on what space there is for them to stand at the front and if so plan on where they stand and how , or if theres not how many seats there is at the front, or if they can get to a seat from the side (eg walk to front turn left past you mother etc and go back up the aile to the 2nd row on the outside, but you should always have the MOH and BM next to you and they/or he passed the rings to you, and she holds you bouquet while you do the rings and say your vows!

when i was a bm for my cousin, nothing was organised and we walked into the room which was overcrowded and hard to get in then we got to front and had no idea what we were supposed to go (sit down? but there was not seats? stand? but where)

when I was a bm for both my aunties we stood at the front for the beginning bits and then sat down on the husbands side for the 2nd half of the ceremony, there was a sort of break in the ceremony that nobody else seemed to notice but us where we went and sat down, it meant that it was easier for guests to take pictures of the signing and the kiss at the end because there were a lot of us and we were in the way a little.

And my soul saw yours and said
"oh, I have been looking for you"
we met 07/09/2004. we loved 28/02/2012
    we'll marry- 14.08.2021

Our bridesmaids are sitting on the front row with my mum and dad.

We have had to reserve all the seats that we want so no one else will sit there.
