I'm planning to do a sweet tree for the kids table and as the tins of roses and quality streets are mega cheap I thought
of buying one then with the pearl pins attaching them to the ball of the tree. I was at a fair last wknd and the lady showed me how to make the trees. Your best buying the sweets after xmas or Easter as they go down in price, all depends on what kind of sweets your using as well xx

I paid a visit to one of them wedding companies that supplies balloons, candy trees etc yesterday. What a rip off. They quoted £25.00 for one candy tree and 65.00 for 5 bunches of balloons. So I went on the bay and purchased 2 double diy candy trees for what they quoted for 1 and I can get the same amount of balloons for £14.00 and the venue will supply the helium. I dont know where they get their prices from but they can stick em where a monkey sticks his nuts lol!!

I was going to do my own candy table when I saw some of the prices but I found a right bargain today at a wedding fayre. we're getting ten different large jars of sweets plus 3 large bows with one refill in each and 3 sweet trees all for £100. To be honest I did price this up myself and buying all the stuff individually with sweets and tree kits etc I wouldn't be able to do it too much cheaper. Whatever is unused we get to keep at the end of the night :) we also get a plaque on the trolly with our names and date that we get to keep. They also decorate it in our colours, with matching coloured stripey bags. I thought that wasn't too bad considering some of the other quotes about x

i get a card through work, always worth checking to see if your employers already have one, it costs nothing to be part of it and to get a card so its definately worth asking :-D

i got my scoops from ebay 99p each from hong kong, they took a while to come but did get here and are great :-) i also bought some purple kitchen tongs from Pound Stretcher that go with the theme and also can be used afterwards :-P

i'm a macro members if that helps? might be worth putting a thread up to see who is members and would be willing to go with other brides?

There are certain professions where you can just show your id card and they'll let you in, i know they will let you in at Bookers cash and carry with emergency services id if that helps x

We got our sweet tree sweet from Bookers and Macros.
Its definetly worth checking if the company you work for have a Macro account already. If not its free so most companys wont mind you signing up in their name, ive done this the last 2 places i have worked :o)

I finished off our sweet trees (well more bushes as i wanted people to be able to see over the top) this weekend, so will post a photo soon if anyone wants to see them! And they were soooo easy, its definetly easy enough to make your own rather than pay a fortune for them! x
