We are lucky as our venue had the wine packages and then individual drinks to buy. I think we will find out who would ike the wine drinks and who dont can have something different. Luckly we are not having to many guests in the day, so it wont be a pain to find this out. We also have a few children there so will buy jugs of orange for them. I dont see the point in paying so much for the wine package for people who wont drink it.
most venues do the drinks by price so they should be able to substitute alcoholic for non alcholic if you chat to the venue see if they can do a non alcoholic cocktail for u or summat like that maybe

We're going to have two different varieties of sparkling wine and a sparkling elderflower drink. I'm not a big fan of beer and nor is G.
CommentAuthorLiz3yy
I hadn't even thought about drinks! I guess as an alternative to wine you could have sparkling flavoured water and fruit juices?
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
CommentAuthorJane
Our welcoming drinks are - sparkling rose wine, non sparkling rose wine, orange juice or orange juice with lemonade. The bar know that we will pay for teas and coffees if anyone asks for those instead. Then Cava for toasting.
CommentAuthorRachie :D
We're having bottle of beer, wine spritzers and appletizer on arrival.
Wine with the meal or lemonade.
A £3 booze token for the men as favours.
Prosecco for a toast and my dad wants to give people a drink on the night too who arent there on the day

we're nopt having welcome drinks, due to timing but, on the tables we are having jugs of sangria and jugs of beer and then for kiddies they have lemonade but in wine bottle type bottles to make them feel grown up :)
CommentAuthorbexter83
We're having for reception drinks pimms, bucks fizz and jugs of orange juice. Wedding breakfast wine's and water jugs and sparkling wine for toasts. Bar will be order for drinks to be ordered throughout the meal. Is anyone having a free bar?
CommentAuthorCroc
welcome drinks are 2 glasses of champers , 2 pints of beer , bucks fizz, or a virgin bride...(pure orange juice, lemonade and a dash of cranberry ... so a woo woo without the vodka)
with the meal 3 glasses of wine, or 3 beers, with bottles of still and sparkling water, fresh orange, fresh apple and or that shloeer type drink oh and tea and coffee
toasts is champers
and instead of a free bar we are providing our guests with personal shots we have designed our selves served in ice shot glasses ... we were going to have a free bar... but then thought why should we ... they have enough free booze with the rest of the day so they can get their wallets and get us a drink haha

We're sticking to the good old bucks fizz! I love it and feel I have to play safe x

Gotta be pink!!! :0)
I think I blinked and missed our wedding!! lol
CommentAuthorsuzky123
we are going to ask to substitute some of the welcome drinks for fruit juice but not messing with bridal breakfast. There will be lemon water on the table so they either go the bar and buy a drink, drink the water or drink the wine we brought for them.

We are also sticking with the old Bucks fizz for when my guests arrive, and we are putting a couple bottles of wine on each table to keep them going then after they've gone they buy there own from the bar!!
CommentAuthorNishaVyas88
For non-drinkers, we're going to have Shloer (or probably a cheaper version) plus a selection of mocktails.
CommentAuthorMrsSaraParry!
champagne on arrival and for the toast, half a bottle of wine per person for the meal. Bit of a pain for those who dont drink I know, but we've got a private bar so I think they'll be able to have soft drinks instead of wine if they want...although I'd be lying if I said I was sure! xx

We have squash for the kids and I'm also going to do grape juice and lemonade for a posh non alcohol drink. As our venue is a hotel they can cater for most things by the glass so we don't have to pay for extras.

Its like wine just without the alcohol.
CommentAuthorKye
Were having pimms on arrival as you can have about twenty glasses to a bottle of pimms in comparison to champers or carva and you can add anything to pimms its lovely so were putting a raspberry in each glass to fancy it up a bit :D xxx
CommentAuthorMrsSnedden2B
Were just letting people go 2 the bar and picking a drink then after that there paying for them theirselfs lol may ask our venue if we can order drink in for the toast most likely buck fizz xx
CommentAuthorRoseyB
We're having 2 glasses of bubbly at the reception some plain champers some with cassis then jugs of pimms on the tables and glas of bubbly for the toast we thought about adding more but decided to send the money on canapés with the reception drinks instead xx
CommentAuthorGregorysGirl
We are doing our reception ourselves, so we are going to have Pimms, but also ginger beer and pink lemonade in jugs too for those who don't drink. Because it is a laid back affair though we have said to our guests that if they want to bring a bottle then that is fine, at least they will be able to drink something they really like. xx

This Saturday I will finally be Mrs Codling!

We're having sparkling wine, orange juice or bucks fizz for the drinks reception, sparkling wine for the toasts and three bottles of wine per table (one white & one red on the table, and then a replacement of whichever is used first). The bar will be open from about 15 mins after the ceremony ends so if anyone wants something different (me included) they will have to go to the bar to get it themselves. We have a few non-drinkers coming, so have thought about this.

We are having bucks fizz or bottled beer for arrival drinks. Two glasses of white, red or rose with the meal, or jugs of beer for the men.And champagne for the toast. Any kiddies get fruit shoots when everybody else gets drinks although I may ask to do something different instead, don't really want them having lots of sugar loaded drinks. They are mad enough without a sugar overload!! Do the beer jugs sound tacky? I just don't see the point in paying for wine when only about two of the men coming drink it!!
CommentAuthorbarbie86
For those who drink, we are providing 2 glasses of buck's fizz as the welcome drinks, 1/2 bottle wine with the meal, and a glass of champagne for the toast. For those who don't drink, I think we'll be providing orange juice or lemonade for the welcome drinks, then allowing them a choice for the meal eg coke, orange juice, with 2 drinks pp. We're not providing any additional alcoholic drinks so if for eg someone doesn't want wine and wants beer, that's up to them to buy it if they choose. I've allocated £20 a head for the non-drinkers for drinks. There will also be mineral water on all the tables.
We're then putting approx £2000 behind the bar, to start when the evening do starts; this will be for beer, wine, and soft drinks, and single measures of spirits.
