    Hey girls... flowers are the only open mind field in my budget, i have no idea how much or how little to put aside and when u need to approach a florist. Ive got my heart set on purple and cream flowers (mainly purple tho) and really like the thought of having purple roses as they mean "love at first site" although when i asked a florist earlier thru pasisng she said she didnt know if she could get hold of any...maybe its a internet thing? anyway would apreciate your help on this matter :) xxx

    I got my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, MOB corsage, FOB buttonhole, Groom's buttonhole, 5 groomsmen buttonholes and 2 pageboy buttonholes for £225.

    Your budget is really going to depend on what flowers you have. In my bouquets I have green kangaroo paw, purple/lilac freesia for the scent and some Sea Lavendar (Limolium). The buttonholes and corsages will be made up much of the same but with some blue thistle.

    I would have though your florist should be able to source purple roses - esp if you give them enough notice as to what you want.

    I think it would work out cheaper - but some wholesalers are sneaky and wont sell to individuals
    And if they know your not a professional they may charge you more so you need to know your stuff when you go

    purple roses....you can use food colouring in the water, the roses take on the colour of the water and turn purple, its not like a cadbury's purple, but it does come out darker than a lilac.

    I was like you Gembo- didn't have a clue what to expect to pay for flowers. However we met our florist at a wedding fayre and she came up with having fresh flower decorated christmas trees instead of a stand (?) so we got her details and within a week were in her shop ordering the flowers. It was her imagination that sold us really. So we are paying just under £460 for;

    Bridal bouquet
    Bridesmaids bouquet x 1
    Flowergirl wand
    Buttonholes x 4
    Centre pieces x 6
    Top table arrangement
    Christmas trees x 2
    Thank you bouquet x 1

    Cor when you list it like that I reckon it's a good deal but we did get 10% off as we booked through wedding fayre.

    I saw some amazing Cadbury's purple orchids at our florists on Saturday, she'd sourced them in specially for a purple and lime themed bouquet! So def worth asking your florist what ideas they have for coloured flowers, I'd never seen anything so vivid!

    We got a fab deal on flowers too, teardrop bouquet for me, BM bouquet (loose round), 7 buttonholes inc fancy ones for H2B and parents, church pedestal, bow ties for pew ends and a top table arrangement for £275!
