Okay, I was originally planning to have teacups filled with simple white flowers as our centrepieces but we don't have enough teacups and they're becoming more and more expensive to get nice ones. Plus I'm not sure it'd look right. I'm really dithering about what to do now. What do you think?

defo the gyp. I hate martini glasses, and I hate carnations.
although your tea cup idea is the nicest of the lot of them, a little different.

I have voted the Tall vases filled with a cloud gypsophila as they look gorgeous. I feel the wreath is more inclined for a winter wedding and the tea cups although very sweet may be swamped by what else is on each table and less noticeable. xx

the tea cups is more quirky and i think that best fits your personality. I like the martini glasses and dont hate me but I think you shouldnt fill them with carnations though, or at least not on their own.

I really like the look of massed carnations, so I'd only use carnations as a mass. I wouldn't have them in a mix, I'd use other flowers.
I had planned to put three teacups on each table but we're now looking at seventeen tables and it's hard to find 51 nice teacups.

If you were to go with the teacups I think they would look better placed on a glass plinth or similar so that they had some more height to them as centrepieces. Car boot sales are ideal places to pick up bone china as I have seen loads at my local one. Also charity shops and local bring n buy sales. xx

One other idea was to build our own two tier cake stands and use those filled with flowers as centrepieces. I really have no idea what to do as it's a fine line between gorgeous and tacky.

I like the Gyp Centre pieces best out of those pics.

I don't know whether you have considered hiring the teacups for your centrepieces as I have found someone in Edinburgh who hires out vintage tea sets. xx

I'd rather not hire them. It works out quite expensive. I just don't know if the aesthetic works with the tea cups and a marquee.

The original martini glass idea
AHA! I found the original martini glass idea again. White massed flowers as a dome on top with cut limes underneath.

I like this one too. The chillies are a nice touch.
Another idea

No worries it was only a suggestion considering you have so many to find if you were to go with the teacups. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I like the cake stand idea filled with flowers, thought about that myself for a while. Also like the idea of hat boxes filled with flowers.
Junes idea of putting the tea cups on a plinth is quite good, and have yo thought about using actual cute teapots too? I have seen LOADS of them reasonably priced at online wedding shops. really really cute idea. And a but quirky like you

Ooh! I love those. They look gorgeous.
I think I just find flowers really hard because I have no experience with them (other than doing the occasional piece for dinner parties or Christmas).
CommentAuthorHoxxyhula
love the tea cup tower. My venue do a centre piece but not sure if I want them. I thought of teapots with flowers, but again difficult/expensive to have enough.
CommentAuthorGregorysGirl
I voted to stick with the teacups, I have bought about 36 teacups and saucers for my guests to use on the day, and I bought them all from charity shops, Royal Ascot ones included and they weren't expensive at all. The most I paid for 4 cups, saucers and side plates was £12, so if you don't mind doing that it is well worth it. I got a few from ebay but that can prove pricey with post and packaging. But if you had to change it, then martini glasses filled with gyp would look gorgeous. xx
