I've been doing my seating plan and had a thought about what I put on our parents place cards. Do we put Mum and Dad or their names?

I am thinking about putting Mother of the bride/Groom and for the bestman and bridesmaid their roles. both mums are called Liz

I'd go with mother/father of the bride/groom.
Or if you're feeling funny "New Mother-in-Law" on both... or "Mum 1" and "Mum 2"...
Really unhelpful, sorry :P I wouldn't go with names, as they're your parents. I'd find it weird writing my parents names, and in my mum and dad's case at least they're only going to be called "Mother/father of the bride" once, and it makes it a bit special :)

I'm going with their roles as they won't get that opportunity again!! So 'Mother of the Bride' and 'Father of the Bride' etc :)

We had their names put on, and typical of my mother as we are sat at the table, instead of saying how nice things are she said "why doesn't that say Mum?". I just said "because your name is N***a". Arrghhhh!

My Sister wrote the place cards out for me today and she's just written christian names. Don't think anybody will be too worried either way :o)

I think we'll do their roles, although we may need to check with the caterer as people are picking their food beforehand so might need the real names in brackets to help waiting staff. X

This is where I think I am lucky since it is only going to be OHs mum and dad so we're just going to have Mum and Dad on the place cards.
