Wording is tricky though! I hate the flowery language in invitations but it's hard to strike the right balance....

We didn't do a 'save the date' beforehand as we are getting married in 6 months but we made fridge magnets with a pic of a bride & groom via an internet site and sent them with our invites

I know myself how many invites I lose between recieving them and the date of the event and I usually have to pin them to the fridge so I just thought this might work & everyone has said what a good idea it was.
How long before the wedding are we ment to send out the save the dates? x

Usually about a year. We sent them 15 months before as it was school holidays.

We've just kinda emailed and text, and called save the dates, for important people, that are going to be at the ceremony. Our invites are going out 11 months before the wedding, as we have many people coming from all over the country, plus I wanna get as much as possible done early, though I'll probably ask for confirmation early as possible, so we know costs, then closer to the time confirm again, I know what I'm like. LoL
