We are going to have wooden hearts with a ribbon on them with the guests name and meaning of their name painted on them. We will be making them, so hopefully they will go to plan! Planning on having them double up as place cards too! xx

Think we'll just put something on the tables. Although h2b works for a big paper so he wants to get a mock issue of the newspaper made up with a story about us and lots of photos and get that handed out to all of the guests at the end of the night. The story would be written like an interview with us and a timeline of our relationship with little stories from the bridesmaid and best man! xx
Looking forward to becoming Mrs MacKay on 30th May 2013!! :)

ohhhh thats such a cool idea
our ladies a having silver heart compacts and at the moment the men have Jet tie pins
We're having charity favours too - and having seen Kaya's I think maybe something like that would be nicer than pins :)
CommentAuthorKate4
We're having Welsh Lovespoons. My side of the family are Welsh and I thought it would be a nice nod to my background. My family always give lovespoons for special occasions so thought this would be nice token. My family will all love them and my friends will think they're cute!
h2h_dark_250.jpg
I am attaching a ribbon and tag to each one and then having them rest on a little card with an explanation as to what lovespoons are and their meanings etc. They weren't that cheap (though I did get them on offer) but when my mum suggested it I loved the idea and couldn't settle for anything else.
I have been everywhere to find the cheapest place for the Yankee Wax Tarts - I found them on line for 99p each but then with delivery this made them £1.14 - I have found them for 98p in Homebase : ) xx

There are alot of fab ideas on this post girls!! Were just keeping things simle though, with sugared almonds in cream organza pouches for the ladies, and choc poker chips in pillow boxes for the gents. There going to be made by myself, with the help of my mum, and my mil2b.
CommentAuthorMrs Davro
They did have some in home bargains. If you have a shop local ask if they will do any discount as you are buying so many.
CommentAuthorbrilly
im making all my own favour boxes ( thanks to the h2b) lol but have also purchased white organza bags with silver love hearts not sure on our favours asyet but thinking along the lines of lucky sixpences with a personalised choccy 2 plus all guests are receiving a wine glass charm most of them are personalised but they can be used for napkins too and soo cheap and easy to make xxx

I am loving some of the ideas on this thread. Love the welsh love spoons! We are having purple sparkly Indian bangles for the ladies (super cheap and super pretty from our indian travels last week!) and for the men possibly CD's with the music from our day on them, I can make them myself and make up the disc labels. We want to give one CD per couple so this makes sense (with a few extra cd's for single female guests!)
Also very tempted to make and ice some biscuits with the date on them. I often batch make cookies for Christmas so making 60 for the wedding should be easy enough! x

Loopster it depends if you have a specific flavour in mind or a shop nearby. Try yankee doodle or go into the shop and see if they will do a discount for buying a few or when your specific flavour is on fragrance of the month.

right i've decided i'm doing this really cheap... little pretty boxes from card factory or something with chocolates in it... thats my lot as i have to save for my dress lol x
CommentAuthorHelenW
we are the same. our theme colour is the cadbury purple, so I thought I'd probably make the wine glass charms and then give one of "the purple one" to everyone.

Hi all, we are having little mini gift bags tied with pink ribbon and are putting 5 of the cadburys minis in them, to fit in with our cadbury purple and pink colour scheme. Thought that 5 would also fit in with the 5 sweets tradition, not sure if it counts with chocolates instead of almonds though lol. Now that I'm reading this though, I really love the charity pin badge idea. I wish we had thought of that. H2Bs mum passed away suddenly 2 years ago due to heart problems, so the British heart foundation badges would be a nice way of remembering her. We are getting married at the end of April, so don't know if we can get them now, but if we can afford it I am definitely going to be buying them for everyone too :). There's 11 children coming, they are having goody bags with colouring books, games, ect.

I couldnt choose between 2 so are having 2 favours. one is a birdcage shaped box filled with mini eggs, and the other are mint imperials wrapped in tulle.....they look the same as the sugared almonds in tulle but not having almonds. then I am making mini wedding cakes for people to take home with them.....so I suppose thats 3 favours really. but as I am only having 20 people, its really not costing much and I am making the mini cakes myself so its pennies really. We are having a 18 month old baby as a guest and I have bought a plastic teddy which I intend to fill with jelly babies for her. I think in total for all the favours will only have cost me £60 so thats £3 each.
I can resist anything but temptation

I bought some yankee candles a 4 months ago and they turned into crumble after the 4 months (the perfumes in them) so can I suggest you buy these as close to the wedding as possible and tell your guests to use them. Homebase is cheaper than any of the sites (and I have been through them all). I'm getting married abroad too so they are great as they are so light.
For the men we have decided on cigars. After to asking a few of them they ahve all said they hate sentimental things plus it's more to take home and would LOVE a cigar so that's what they're getting : )

Hi Dani. I bought 80 and didn't get a discount. I need to buy a few more now though as think numbers will be over 80. There is a shop in Swansea market but I bought them from their online store before I realised I could have collected (visit the family in s/wales every couple of months).I'm tagging them up next weekend and can't wait as I think they were the first wedding things I bought!
