As some of you know we were having the dilema of where to have the wedding, stay here or go abroad and I can excitedly say the deed is done and we have cancelled our wedding here and are going abroad!!
I am so excited now and am looking forward to planning now instead of dreading every minute. I would like to know if any one has or is planning on having their wedding abroad too as we are looking into Cyprus but would like some reviews for hotels etc. Thanks x x x

that's sounds really exciting good luck with your plans seems everyone's thinking the same lol
Thanks everyone im really happy now. Hey stevie - Dee, yeah your not to far from me. How come you decided to go abroad if you dont mind me asking? We are looking at paphos too or Limassol at the moment. Looking at Olympic holidays, do you have any recomendations on who to book with. I thought I may just do it through a travel agent to be on the safe side. I usually book my hols on line to save money but im not sure if that a good idea for the wedding. How are your plans going, are you enjoying the planning? x

Hi Danni! To be honest I searched and searched through trip advisor for recommendations for wedding planners/agents. There are lots that don't recommend travel agents as they are very slow with communication, treat you as a number etc. Olympic are meant to be good and were recommended to me by my travel agent. However after looking through all the documents needed and what has to be done we have decided to save the £300 minimum price for a documents only wedding planner and do it ourselves. It is simple and straightforward with a Town Hall as all you need to do is send an email to get your date and time booked. Some weddong planners wont get you get an actual time until 3 days before the wedding, so if you go with a wedding planner make sure they get a time as soon as possible so you can plan your whole day. Then closer to the time you need to fax all documents. For us that means copy of passports, birth certificates, deed poll and affidavits signed by a uk solicitor no more than 3 months before your wedding date.
I think if you are choosing to marry in a hotel, beach or church I would probably say get a planner as there is more involved. We are getting married in Paphos Town Hall as its a lovely imposing building, great for photos and in the centre of Paphos. The whole service is costing us £250 payable 3 days before. We have decided to marry in the gardens of the Town Hall as the gradens are lovely.
We'e managed to get a great deal with a yacht/transport company in Paphos which includes 2 hour sunset cruise onboard yacht which holds up to 150 people max Champagne, bucks fizz, juice for the kids and canapes. Bmw convertible or saloon, not chose which one yet to take me and bridesmaids tothe town hall 4 journeys on the open top wedding bus which includes all guests pick ups from the villas/hotels Scenic coastal drive to the yacht which includes champagne and music etc Pick up from the harbour after the cruise to take us all to our evening meal Pick up from evening meal to take us all back to our villas/hotels at the end of the night. All the above for £1,800
Evening meal at a traditional Cypriot taverna in a beatiful little village. The village itself is famed for its flower festivals and the lady owner of the taverna sent me pics of the village in bloom this week...lush. They close the taverna so it is a private function. I have a thread on here which shows our menu called Cypriot menu poll if you do a quick search. Basically it is costing us £15 per head for starters, main (lots of choices) desserts, coffees etc. The owners don't stop bringing food out until you tell them to stop. They are including greek dancing and music for us as they know my uncle who lives in Meosgi, Paphos. However the entertainment would normally cost £200.
We have 48 guests so far. So £15 per head is saving us a fortune but there are lots of places that do a similar price for meze etc. I would suggest that unless you want to pay hugely over inflated prices steer clear of restaurants that only open for wedding functions. Not sure at what type of wedding you are looking for but if you need more info or links for any of the above just holler! xx

I have 2 photos of the town hall gardens. Will find them and put them in my album for you to see. I can send you the email of the taverna through pm if you send me a message next time you are on. xx
Just wondering if anyone else is having their hen and stag day/night in Cyprus and if so what are you planning? Steve wants a joint hen/stag....mainly because hes worried his best man may get him arrested/lost/drunk beyond all comprehension. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete. xx

Crete is also a very nice palce to have a wedding. I would have done it but hated the thought of someone else doing the planning and not all family would be able to afford to go x

hi all, stevie - dee, we dont gt married untill 2013 but i think the general census is that we will be having separate. My daughter is my moh and she will only b 13 at the time so il be having a girly pamper session for mine and h2b will be having a stag but with my dad and rest of family so i cant see them being too wild lol, are your family not coming along? xx

Mis Bellybuster if you unrestrict your page I can send you a friend request, then you will be able to view photos. xx
Leah the majority of our family are coming. There is only 1 of my brothers who wont be able to make it due to illness but he wants us to go ahead with the wedding in Cyprus. There will be 49 of us altogether. We have changed our mind yet again on the hen/stag. Steve is now having his stag in the UK a week or two before we go. My hen will be in Cyprus but will be more a day/night for everyone in the wedding party as I am not that fussed about a girly night or getting drunk. lol xx

Hi, Just seen this thread thought i would comment as we had to cancel our wedding due to lack of funds, over the last few weeks we have been looking at getting married abroad and have now decided that we would like to marry in Cyprus preferably Paphos definately got to be much cheaper than in Uk, Stevie-Dee - You got a fantastic deal there, at the moment we are stuck between whether to have wedding in hotel or the town hall, just got to ask family/friends and ask who would want to come so we can get an idea of numbers, definately more positive about this now, as opposed to getting married here.
