    Hi Ladies

I’ve been looking through all the old posts about wedding websites and after looking at the websites themselves I am still no clearer as to which one would be best – and if they are worth having......any advice??

I live in Gloucestershire now but am from Yorkshire originally so i thought the idea of a website would help all the ‘up north’ people with location, directions, hotels etc etc etc

Does anyone have one – are they any good? What have your guests said about it? Are they more hassle than they are worth?

We haven’t confirmed our venue yet but i like to be organised lol so once we have details ready and waiting i can cracking on a website so they can go out with the invites.....or would you put your website address on your save the dates?

Ooohh and also can you put a password on it so people who you don’t want to see it can’t?!!

Sorry for all these questions, i am just wondering if people have any recommendations and any information on what more you can do with them – can you add your ‘how we met’ story and your ‘proposal story’ and upload photos and stuff??

Can I have link's on my wall please as not allowed in the forum
    xx

We've set one up and our invites went out last week and people love it! Ours is password protected so only people we invite can see it. People can RSVP online including menu choices, there is info about travel, hotels, lift sharing, about us and how we met and the proposal story, info about the wedding party and a chance for people to ask us questions. We live in France but our guests are spread out all over England and the wedding is in England and it has just made it so much easier! Ours is with getting married, it was free and easy to set up. H2B did most of the work for it and he really enjoyed having a project! I'll put the link to our website on your wall so you can have a nosey!

I have one with mywedding and the American dot ending. Has all the same easy features as all other providers but an array of non-kitschy templates. That won my vote :-)

ooohhh i will check them both out tonight and see how i get on :)

Lofty - thanks for the friend request, ive accepted, if you wouldnt mind putting the link on my wall that would be great. I dont live as far away from my family as you haha but its the same principal of if there is some distance between people a website would make it much easier.....although i wanted to send stamped self addressed envelopes in the invites for rsvps so now im torn as to whether i should save money and use the website for rsvp's or still do the cutesy idea of little rsvps!

I love technology but was kind of hoping to do a lot of makign me own invites type stuff so i think getting one would be useful but maybe still doing the rsvp cards and stuff.......lots to think about!!!

Password protected is good - big tick lol and i like the idea of being able to add your stories and hotel information etc and things like gift lists and table plans (although may leave the table plans off until i am 1000% sure they are set!)....i think its def worth while i do it just from hearing from you ladies, suppose i just need to decide what info to include

Laurajoanne I've already put it on your wall, hope you can find it, it's near the bottom of your wall already! We also decided to keep off the table plan, I want to be able to change it nearer the time without people knowing what it was already. Kitkat I'll put it on to your wall too!

I'm thinking of maybe doing a gift list online. There is a few things we want for the home but it's just new of what we already have don't want a debenhams one we want different stuff from different places.

We use getting married as well. It's great. We went live with it at the end of January, have only given the links to people invited and we've had 241 views on it! Really useful for everyone :)
