Hi, my big day is over two years away, but I have such trouble finding comfy shoes anyway that I thought I'd start looking now. Basically I have flat feet, but they are also quite narrow across and I am anything from a 7.5 wide to a 9 narrow fitting. The dress I want to wear is just below knee length 50s style with a full skirt and am planning on having a petticoat colour to match my h2b's tie and the bridesmaids petticoats (not decided on colours yet). So my shoes will ideally match that colour. The problem with having flat feet is they don't tend to fill shoes width ways, I want ideally a shoe with an ankle strap which will keep them on my feet, with a kitten heel or just a bit higher as I have never worn heels before so don't want something too high, I am quite tall too, 5ft7 so don't want to be towering above all my much shorter bridesmaids. Have any of you lovely ladies the same problem as me? Or can suggest anything I can start looking for? Maybe I should have written to Trinny and Susannah! Thanks in advance xx

I am the same! I got some low patent courts from debs in the sale then haggled 10 % off!
I have hypermobility syndrome and am quite tall so don't want ridiculous heels as i tend to over extend my knees in really high heels...
I wouldn't go for ballet flats for the entire day as they offer no support for flat feet and you will end up with very tired feet and calves, I reccomend a low heel.. 2-3 inches. x
And we lived happily ever after!

Thanks ValentinaK, Yes I find that ballet flats I curl my big toes up to keep them on when I'm walking so end up with sore feet all over. What size shoe are you? And you have flat feet?

yeah... I am a size 7 and my feet are as flat as pancakes! I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type III (Hypermobility) and so all my ligaments are lax, so my feet arches are completely collapsed, my shoulders can sublux with ease, my knees bend backwards and I can touch my elbows together behind my back!
I do that, almost like I'm trying to grip them to stay on. I vary foot size depending on the shoe from a size 6 right through to size 8s. With court shoes that aren't sky high, I go for a 6.5-7 and for really high shoes a 6 or 6.5. Flat shoes, boots and trainers, a size 7 or 8.
And we lived happily ever after!

Oh my knees bend backwards too! Just tried to see if my elbows touch at the back.....nope lol. Is your condition painful?
I've managed to get some peep toe shoe sandal things for my sisters wedding, I'm a bridesmaid, a bit annoying as all the others are wearing matching shoes but I couldn't get any the same to fit :'( she is making bows to match the bows on the others shoes though so will blend in a bit better.
It can be... but it comes in waves every few years and lasts a few weeks to a few months... It's manageable though and it's eased by me exercising ironically! I try to keep active now anyway so I've not had too many issues. I tore the cartilage in my knee and was off exercise for 2 months and saw a completely different new (and old!) physio... he assessedmy whole self and not just my knee and said to me I shouldn't bother trying to correct my flat feet in my trainers and not to wear ballet shoes anymore, however he did say I should try wearing 0 gradient running shoes or very low profile in terms of heel to toe height difference. I wondered why and he said to just try it and would become obvious... so I did and basically, nowadays, when I run, it makes me run on my toes/forefoot and ever since I've had no ankle pain, knee pain or hip pain... and gotten much quicker! Takes a lot of stress off legs and joints as it makes you run as we were meant!
He also told me if you were born with flat feet and they didn't develop as a result of pregancy or something else later in life, then not to bother correcting with insoles because my body has grown up and asjusted to not have support!
It's the best thing I ever did - and much cheaper! I'm not sure if it works for everyone but I noticed a HUGE difference!
I got my shoes from "Call it Spring!" at Debs but they are just a concession at Debs and have a store online
