Hi. I have provisionally booked my wedding (civil ceremony) for Easter Sunday 2017. I would like to ask if anyone has gotten married on this day and found that they struggled with registrar/vendors? Was traffic something to factor in? Can anyone think of anything I should consider before putting a deposit down? (Also, am I crazy to try and plan a wedding with 200 guests in 7 months!?)Thank you.

Congratulations!
Have you contacted the registry office to book the registrar? I'm sure your venue wouldn't take a booking unless registrars would work on Easter Sunday.
I doubt traffic will be bad given that nowhere apart from churches and I think pubs open on easter Sunday.
No idea about the availability of suppliers but start booking now to make sure you get people.
My sister managed to plan and organise her wedding in 6 months so it is doable xx

Thank you :D and to yourself!
I'm going to contact them on Monday. My friend said she would get herself ordained if they aren't open that day!
I hope the traffic won't be an issue. I would like that most people would already be on their holiday by easter sunday. I'm thinking of hiring a coach to take non-driving guests but haven't worked out if London transport works on Easter Sunday.
Thank you for responding :)

I would check out suppliers now if I were you. We are getting married on nye and booked everything 18 months in advance, we had to go with our second choice on some things aswell.
Lovely idea for your friend to marry you though xx

Generally London transport only stops on Christmas Day, all other days it runs.

If you're planning on getting married in a church I think you'll need to check the timings of easter Sunday mass.

A lot of churches will not do weddings on Easter Sunday and only registrars can perform civil marriages

Thank you all for your responses!
I'm easy going about florists/vendors. I know my venue and caterer are available and that's the most important for me.
It won't be in a church, so I'm lucky in that sense.
I keep thinking London is at a standstill when it comes to national holidays. As long as buses are running the we should be ok. :D

Nope, London only stops on Christmas Day.
You need to book your registrar ASAP with the registry office.

Like the others have said I think the lack of notice rather than the actual day will be the problem here, good luck x

Registrar is booked :D. Managed to get one of the last remaining places. I've checked with closest friends/family and they are all free that day. It looks like all systems go. Thank you all for your help :D

Wonderful news. If men can organise a wedding in 3 weeks (don't tell the bride) then you can certainly do it in 7 months! Hope everything plans out as well for you as things have so far :-)
