I decided to take it out. I used E&L too. Only cost me about £19 to cover my wedding budget - figured that was a small price to pay compared with how much I'm spending on the wedding....
"Of course I'm not wedding obsessed!!"
CommentAuthorGem1102
I've used E&L too. They were the cheapest I could find online.
I used E & L too, my oher half is a insurance broker and said they are best for wedding insurance x

Can someone point me in the right direction on the E&L site where it show the bands please?

I would recommend getting wedding insurance just in case. If you use money supermarket or a comparison site of some form then you can usually get a really good deal on it.
I think the average is about £50 - £60
You don't need to have it but is better to be safe than sorry just in case something does happen that is beyond your control
Best of luck :) xxx

i used e & l, i defo would get it, a hotel burnt down beside me the other day and i had a meeting with my florist a few days later, she was the recommended florist for the hotel that burnt down, and she said loadds of brides would loose out because they didnt have wedding insurance.
CommentAuthorlinzi
a lot of venues require you to get it. Our also required that we had full public liability as well as private liability. Which is why we chose E&L as its an option extra with most of the other companies we looked at.

i was looking on google at the reviews for E&L as i was going to use them as everyone has said about how cheap they are but but was amazed at all the negative reviews. I dont think i read a positive one!! Be careful ladies before you buy it and to those that already have in case something goes wrong xx

Gemzy - When I read the details on E&L it said it covers stuff you've already paid for as long as you have the receipts for up to 2 years before (or something like that), I can only assume other places would be the same as well

Ours was £59 on Debenhams which included an extra for Public Liability insurance....just to be on the safe side as we have exclusive use of our venue which includes the underground tunnels etc... We have switched dates with them which was hassle free so they have been v good in that way. xx

SOME VERY GOOD REASONS TO GET IT............
When it comes to your wedding, we all have images of the perfect day. We have that dream and want to do everything possible to ensure it comes to fruition, down to the very last detail. The style, scale and budget are all unique for each bride and groom and the events of the day can let the personality of each couple shine through.
Whether your wedding is
· taking place in another country or a few miles from home;
· a small intimate gathering or a full reception with hundreds of guests;
· being planned by a professional or every detail is being managed yourself,
one thing is certain: there a few days in our lives that require such planning and investment of both time, effort and hard-earnt pounds. This significant concentration of so many things coming together on a single day is both what makes it so special, and also what makes it so prone to risk.
Now, risk is all around us, and there is nothing that can fully eliminate it. There is no sense worrying too much or completely avoiding doing things that might expose us to some risk. However there are many tools we can use to lower the level of impact to us should something go awry.
Think of wearing a seatbelt during driving, and insuring your vehicle. Both provide additional protection to you in the event of an accident.
In the context of a wedding, think about the financial risk of the total investment to all of the vendors that will play a part in your wedding. And of course think about the specifics that will make your wedding unique:
· Will your wedding take place at a hotel, a museum, a private home, a mansion?
· Are key members of the wedding or immediate family traveling some distance to get to the wedding?
· Will alcohol be served?
· Will each and every vendor (photographer, caterer, florist, limo, officiant, etc.) show up and perform as expected?
The list of questions can go on and on, so each couple should spend a few minutes thinking about these things, even in the midst of all of the other planning. Bringing these issues to the forefront, preparing beforehand and taking some precautions can make your dream day that much more enjoyable!
What things can we do to minimize some of this risk?
· Research and use reputable vendors. Check references.
· Read all contracts and agreements. Ensure that you fully understand all of the terms and conditions before signing.
· Document all payments made, to whom, and when; keep records of each. Research and consider using a credit card when possible if it can provide more protection than using cash or checks.
· Verify if it is common practice for that type of vendor to carry their own insurance and if so, ensure that they provide proof.
· Maintain a current total wedding budget from the time of your first deposit up until final payments. Evaluate the total amount that might be at risk should something unexpected force the cancelation or postponement of your big day.
· Consider what protection wedding insurance could provide, what types of cover are right for you and where you can obtain it. Look for cover from established companies who specialize in wedding insurance.
These are just a few tips, but the most important thing is to approach each issue with both your heart and your head. The dream of your special day can be driven by your heart, but make certain that you also protect it while using your head!
Your day. Your dream. Protect it.

I had no choice over my wedding insurance. The only place that would insure us was **************** becuase we're having the Vegas wedding on 15 Sept and the London reception on 15 Oct. It was too far away from each other in terms of time for every other company.

We went with dream saver after reading all the negative reviews about E & L :) £60 including insurance for the marquee. No excess :)
CommentAuthormrs douglas to be!!
i also went with e & l and i think it was only £25 and that covers everything you could possibly need for a standard wedding, its only a small amount of money, and covers you incase the shop where your wedding dress is ordered goes bust, your reception venue camcels, or even if someone has an accident at the wedding, i would definatley advise getting it, a couple of friends of mine didnt get wedding insurance for their weddings last year, and one of them lost the deposit they'd paid for their reception as they'd closed down, and the wedding dress shop where my other friend had her dress and bridesmaid dresses from went bankrupt and lost over £2000, its just there for your peace of mind, just in case. :-) x

I havent got insurance yet! eeekkk. I was told to go with E&L but I was just reading reviews and they sound pretty awful to be honest. I don't think I could go with them just because they are cheap.. I think I'll go with Debenhams or John Lewis, they arent badly priced, covers everything! x

haha wedding insurance is pretty important so I think he'd let you off breaking it lol.. I've just been quoted 68 quid by John Lewis, quite a bit more than E&L but checked reviews and John Lewis have far better reviews in regards to pay outs!
