I never dreamt of getting married when I was younger but I always loved the dresses. And some of celebrities or from film and TV have really wowed me or given great inspiration.

I think my all time favourite celebrity dress is the one the Dutch princess Mabel wore. I love, love, love it.
(I find all Dutch and Scandinavian princesses dresses beautiful)

In the first episode of Pan Am - that dress is just swoonworthy.

JLos 60s wedding outfit in The Wedding Planner is great too.

When Katherine Heigl got married I knew I wanted a birdcage veil.

And Gwen Stefanis wedding dress was quite the show stopper for me.

And of course I liked Kate Middletons dress - though I like Grace Kellys or Princess Margarets better.

Haven't seen Breaking Dawn yet - need to google. I assume she's not wearing the victorian number like in the book? :-)

I'm going to wear a polka dotted shorter 50s dress - with lots if bows attached :-) There's a rough sketch in my album - bodice will be different though.

No only place I could ever find it was on a Scottish site online but at £2000 I could only dream - a few people have mentioned its similar style to Ian Stuart but I didnt find any of those that was a patch on this.

My actual dress I have bought is nothing like this but if that lottery win comes up its mine! lol x

i tried on a marc le carr whitney dress and loved it. it really suited me and i felt like a true bride...

i havent been able to find it since and he doesnt have a website.

i love my dress i have though but if i got the chance of the whitney one id deffo snap it up!!!!!

ust did a wee search and the ones there didnt match the one i had on so either the assistant told me the wrong dress (she wrote it down ive still got the card!!!) or the label on the dress was wrong..... im a 20 nic xx

Yes this Stephanie Allin dress made me look up Stephanie Allin - lots of beautiful dresses. I also find Belle & Bunty quite swoon worthy!

I forgot in my first post - I also LOVE Grace Kellys weddimg dress in High Society and the simple vintage suit in S.e.x. and the city. I also like her in the big Westwood dress and the blue feather on her head but I think I only like it because it's her in a Westwood dress - it's not what I normally like.

A lot of Candy Anthony and Dolly Cotoure dresses make me go Oooooohhh :-)

Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face... That dress is soo Audrey! Lovely :)

When I was engaged at 17, I was adamant that I would get married wearing the dress from My Chemical Romance's "Helena" video. But in white and red instead of black and red. So silly!

I loved Taylor Swift's dress in her video for Love Story, don't like her much but that dress was quite impressive!

I always want to add to this thread and forget!

I forgot in my very first post the dress Stephanie Seymor wears in the November Rain video by Guns'n'Roses. That dress and that kiss most certainly made me go wow when I saw it for the first time when I was 12. Not my thing these days though.

And the first dress I ever considered as 'my' dress is a white dress worn by Doris Day in 'The Glass Bottom Boat' - it's a very typical simple 60s dress - plain top half like a vest and a wider skirt - with daisies appliqued (is that a word?) all over. I always thought I get married in this dress but favoured polka dots over the daisies. But one day I'll make myself such a dress.

I forgot about this thread - now as a power user I can illustrate better.

I had the other day a short wobble why I didn't go for the most dreamy dress I have ever seen - I LOVED this dress when Princess Mabel of Holland got married. LOVED it. LOOOOOOOVED it.

Apart from the dress above I always wanted to get married in this kind of dress - simple top but bigger skirt and daisies all over the skirt. I went with polka dots in the end. When I first saw this movie (The Glass Bottom Boat) as a child I already loved that dress and later on I was convinced I'll get married in it.

Dream Dress

Since I first saw this 2 years ago, this was my dream dress! It is Donald Trumps daughter Ivanka. I have no idea the price of the dress but I know her earrings alone cost $130,000.00 so I am guessing the dress was a wee bit out of my mere mortal league.

Strange thing is I came across a dress that had been handmade by a woman in Tavistock and it was exactly like this dress....and in my size. She was selling it for £3200 and my h2b bless him (knowing how long I have had the pic of the Ivanka dress on my desktop) suggested we could buy it if we put our search for a bigger house back by a few months. My head may be in the clouds over this dress, but at £3200 my feet were firmly on the ground. I couldn't justify holding our life up for the sake of a dress. Quite happy knowing the dress I will be wearing on my wedding day cost £108 ...and we have our dream home instead.

I have a gorgeous husband!
2 brilliant wonderful boys, a wonderful life
in Cornwall. Happiest woman ever!
Now making our house a home. Blessing 2014.

European princesses tend to have more elegant dress, one of my favourites is Princess Charlene of Monaco, just a shame there's supposedly so much unhappiness surrounding the wedding. It's an Armarni dress.
