I ordered mine 16 months beforehand (last April, getting married this August). When you start trying dresses on, ask the assistant how long they take to get in stock - as I was told upto 20 weeks but actually took 26 weeks.

it depends. if you are fussy then best get looking now like me. I was really fussy and funilly enough I then stumbled upon one and brought it early and its still my fave dress. Alternatively, if there are lots of styles you like and you dont think it will be a problem then perhaps buy about 12 to 10 months before the wedding date giving you plenty of time to try on all your options.
