Ummmm, not sure but have you actually advanced from this further on in the budget? "25/02/2014 Look at different wedding dress styles - narrow down to 5 different styles."
Don't you need to buy one at some point?? Also, need to get moving on that as some shops take 9 months for the dress to arrive, let alone all the alterations etc! xx

:D I figure I will buy by Aug since I'm attempting to exercise and if I lose weight by Aug, I'd rather have an accurate fitting.
9 months?? That seems like an incredibly long time. I'm planning to (not decided yet) to have a non-traditional wedding dress, since practically I want a dress I can wear again!

I did forget guestbook, confetti and wedding music though!!

Well, where are you planning on getting your dress from? A bridal dress store or online because these mammoth constructions take quite a while to make! I'd be terrified leaving it till August and so would the majority of brides on here especially if you want to buy from a dress shop as there's no way you'd get a dress in time!! xx

You'd get a sale dress on the day in dress shops which is what my fiancee did last weekend but even looking at online dresses like I have been this evening, they have a 6-8 week wait to make and send to me!

Originally, I wanted to custom make a particular dress, but it's just too expensive. I am now planning to get it from a store - though it may not be a bridal dress store. I've seen quite a few shops in bicester where they have evening gowns. Though if I do get a traditional wedding dress... I will bump up the deadline - do you think end of may is ok??
CommentAuthorCatherineR
That only leaves you with 5 months doesn't it? I'd be getting worried if I didn't have a dress NOW if I'm getting from a bridal store! I'd get calling all your local bridal shops tomorrow to find out what their lead times are on dresses and what they can do for you! Not sure what the stance is on evening gown shops but I imagine quicker although you'd have to find out. Unless you buy a sample/sale dress from the bridal stores, you'll be lucky to get a dress! Some do as little as 4 months but the majority are 6-9 months and some up to a year if they are busy! Also, it may be longer as the summer weddings will be delivering about now and there'll be a rush on with the designers to get those dresses out first.... I'd get on it asap! x

I phoned a couple of shops and their opinions vary vastly! One said 2 months before is fine, the other says 5 months! Hmmm looking as soon as possible won't hurt so I'll get on it :)
