Hi Ladies, What are you all doing for background music at the wedding breakfast? I have no clue what to look for? I dont want anything too obvious?
CommentAuthorRaggedyAnne
we are having 40s 50s music while we eat, to go with our vintage 50s theme, sort of brat-pack music. it was either that or harp music CD .....
I can resist anything but temptation

Sounds nice RaggedyAnne. We're still undecided. Maybe The Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' album followed by something else. That will hopefully fit in with our 60's soul and motown reception. :0)
Can't wait to be married!

Samibridetobe I was the same, but have just found a group called 'vitamin string quartet' you can download there songs, possibly make up a cd? I think this is what we'll do as you can pick songs that mean something to you and ones you both like :)
CommentAuthorkirstyless
We have dowloaded some albums by The Vitamin String Quartet as they take modern songs and do them, so we've shortlisted a few to have things from Gun n Roses to Lady GaGa...sounds fab, I cant wait for the reception!

we're having a string quartet to play for the ceremony, drinks reception and through the wedding breakfast :o) We're going to ask them to play the classical and pop stuff from their reportoire list as we think this'll be the easiest to listen to whilst eating :o)

I have a friend of mine singing at the reception, im not sure yet how long she will be singing for so were also going to put togeter a cd of lots of songs that mean things to us, my h2b made me a mixed cd when we first got together so a lot of those song will be on it along with songs from the 4 yrs weve been together.

Until i read this thread it hadnt even occurred to me about the background music but think lows idea is fab about doing your own cd with your favourite music. My h2b did the same for me when we first met, put a lovey dovey cd together for me so think I can let him do one for the wedding too lol

really liking the own cd idea.... cousin is having a harpist, we're considering traditional irish/scottish music at some point during the proceedings and i really love jazz for during the meal - quiet jazz, not screechy saxophones! would def like a bit of classical and have friends that are in a string quartet but can't really ask them....or can i....?!

we downloaded a c.d of piano music! but will add some of our fav songs too maybe x
