Questions for the ladies who have been wedding dress shopping. And it may seem like a silly one but its been bugging me and driving me bonkers!
What do you wear/did you wear underwear wise when you went hunting for the dress? Do you wear magic knicks, strapless bra, an all in one sucky in magic suit or just a normal bra and knicker set?
I know it matters more when you are going for fittings etc and you are supposed to take your actual underwear set with you that you will be wearing on the day, but what about when you're only looking and are trying on multiple dresses?

wear kncikers that wont falll down easily cos ur ein and out of dresses i wore a pair once that was frilly n kept fallin down ha ha wear white strapless bra! but my dress u dont wera bra wiv x

wear strapless bra definitely, not necessarily the exact one you'll wear on your wedding day, as for magic knickers I won't wear that on my wedding day but if it makes you feel better then wear them. I am not a fan of them, and my kind of dress I tried on were all corset top, as I refuse to wear something else, so no need for tummy tuck underwear

I only own a black strapless bra at the moment, so I think I may be shopping for a new one before I go. I dont actually own magic knickers per se. I have one of those Gok pieces but I wouldnt wear that on my wedding day as its purple!
I took a strapless bra but actually found in some dresses I needed to take it off as otherwise my boobs looked more like a shelf in the dress! You could get away with a normal bra though and just tuck the straps down if you wanted to. Knickers I just wore everyday cottons, you'll be surprised by how much some the dresses pull you in :-)

bright blue bra and knicker set lol just tucked the bra into the dress to look strapless when i was trying strapless ones on. doesn't really matter one of the ladies in the shop said she's seen every colour and combination of knickers and bras

i wore a strapless bra because a lot of dress have either no straps or thin straps so get a better idea with a strapless bar and just wore my normal knickers x

Haha thanks ladies, that makes me feel much better.
Ive heard of some women saying they couldnt wear a bra on their wedding day because the dress was so fitted and boned that it didnt need one.

I would wear a strapless/multi way bra similar to what you would wear on the day, therefore if you are going for a strapless dress you are set to try them on. Also a multi way bra will give you many ways to wear the bra weather you go for a halter neck dress, strapless, one sholder, low back dress etc. You can always take the bra off if you find the dress is fitted enough to go braless. Like all the other ladies have said dont wear control pants if you are not wearing them on the day. You are most welcome its also an idea if you are unsure of sizing to get a fitting for the bra and most places give you 28days to return or exchange the bra if its unsuitable with the dress xx

I worn normal white underwear, nothing padded etc! as i feel that was the best way to try it, however i did also have leggins on oops.. lol x

I wore a normal bra for the the wedding dress shopping and just tucked the bra straps in when trying the dresses on.
For the fittings I've been told to wear the exact bra I intend to wear on the day as they fit the dress to the bra to prevent the dress from moving or slipping on the day.

Thats what i used to do only reason i know about fittings and multi bras. Know what you mean about having the time. Esp with planning a weDding aswell lol. I hope you get your underwear problem sorted hun

Leggings is a good idea too, I very rarely wear them in public though i feel dead self conscious in them and think i look huge in them so I'll more than likely be in my regular jeans lol xx

When i tried dresses on i just wore normal pants and a bra and tucked the strps in. The lady fitting me said if you have a dress fitting properly you shouldnt need any bra on underneath on your wedding day as if the dress is boned it will support and hold your boobs in the right place anyway?! xx

i had to take my bra off to try them on. the women said that a correct fitting and well made dress doesn't need a bra underneath, no matter the size of your b00bs lol mine are Fs at the moment and they're held in beautifully lol
i just had a pair of 'everyday pants' on. in fact, i think they blue and white stripes lol

I just wore a strapless bra and my normal knickers.Just make sure that whatever you choose they provide adequate cover as the assistant spent quite a bit of time up my skirt and i think i would have felt rather embaressed had i been wearing a thong or anything a bit sheer! xxx

i was really selfconscious too, as my period had started that day!! hadn't had one for over a year and my body chose THAT day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went in a bra with straps and standard everyday underwear. They simply just tucked my bra straps in when trying on the dresses. And yes, a fair bit of hands going up the skirt to pull the dress down lol!

I just wore a strapless comfortable bra and French knickers, a matching set. The sales people help you in and out of the dresses so unless you have a bum like a sloggi model it is less awkward to not wear a thong.

As I've changed my dress I only bought a bridal thong as I didn't need a bra with the dress but now I have a new one I'm going to get the wonderbra ultimate strapless I've got one but its now too big :( x

Whether it's normal or not, I always wear my spanx, and I will on my wedding Day and change before I leave to retire with h2b! Gotta look thin All Day til he's bought the goods! Lol! No bra though. Can' wear and no need to wear one with my dress.

Just a normal bra and knickers for me although i now have the strapless bra with the magic hands and i must say it does give me a completely different shape, i haven't tried my dress on with it yet! also have no new knickers maybe i should get cracking lol x

I will be wearing mystrapless bra and although i wont be wearing sucky ins on the big day i will wear them to try on dresses. I am a size 16/18and so alot of sample gowns are hard to squeeze in to. also i hope to losa little weight and tone up my tummy a bit so this will give the shape that i want particularly if i try on dresses that are not fitted xx

i just wore normal bra with straps on the day. then when dress arrived last month i tried in on with no bra i wasnt very impressed. ive lots 3 stone over past year or so and boobs are a bit smaller than they used to be and dress is very structure so seems to swallow them up! good job i found this post tho - just ordered wonderbra ultimate stapless and hope its as good as everyone says!

I wore just normal underwear and bra, matching set (normal for me) I tucked the bra straps in on strapless dresses, and to be honest, the dresses are so well fitted, I didn't need to even have the bra on. Don't stress about getting the right bra now, as you don't know what dress you'll end up choosing, enjoy it, I loved dress shopping, wish I could go again but I've found mine and lost all interest.x

I just wore a white set from Asda, and as above i tucked straps in to see effect of no straps. I do have an underbust corset, that would look great under dress so wish i had taken that with me but then i don't know if i am wearing that on day yet as i do have to be able to sit down and eat !!! I got my dress from a shop in Southam, Warks and would thoroughly recommend them as the girl in there was so nice and made me feel really special.
