Im milk bottle white! I dont want to be too tanned for the day but just want a few shades more golden. Im a bit too body conscious to go for a spray tan and h2b wont let me go for sun showers as I had a small scare from using them years ago. Can anyone reccomend a good/natural looking tinted body moisturiser, that looks even and doesnt streak or go too dark?? How long do they last and will it rub off on clothing??? xxx

I recommend garnier summer body moisturiser - gives you a glow without you looking fake. It's kinda just a hint of colour to your skin if you had been out in it an hour every day for two weeks!

Best thing to do is to use it for a month before the wedding and don't apply too much. Use it all over as can be used full body and use a cloth to apply to the face. Always wash your hands after as it can stain your fingers so use soap and warm water. Three days before the wedding i would use a bit to top it up so it looks fresh! x

Oh that was another question - I sound like a complete novice but How do you wash your hands without having pure white hands and golden wrists/arms etc.? xx

All you have to do is make sure whenyou wash your hands afterwards you concentrate the soap between your fingers and palms then using your index finger when you have washed your hands reapply a little moisturiser to the backs of your hands and just wash your fingers - works fine for me as I am useless at applying it evenly without being messy! x

I used to use the Johnson's one, but then I got a bad rash from it (but I do have weirdly sensitive skin) - so I started to use the Dove one which was ok I guess. I have really pale skin and found that if I didn't apply it everytime I had a shower or whatever, my skin would lose the tint straight away! But my nan (who has quite tanned skin anyway from spending a lot of time in the garden every summer) uses Dove sometimes and it takes to her skin so much better than mine, so maybe it's just me. I think it's best to test a few before you choose one just in case you get a reaction to it or it doesn't work as well as you hope. x

The other thing you may wanna do stevie before you get one is to smell them as some have a strong smell of self tan in the bottle whilst others are very mildly fragranced to smell more natural or floral or like moisturiser basically! x

Oh never thought of that part, thanx Lainee. I don't want to smell 3 parts Estee Lauder to 2 parts fake tan! (-: xxx

Great thread Stevie, I'm also like a milk bottle although I do go a shade darker in the summer but it's no more than chewing gum white!! lol. I want to try a tinted lotion too so thanks for starting the thread. xxx

i use Clinique Body Corp for fair skin. Its a self tanner, and I layer it up over a few days. So long as you have exfoliated before you put it on its totally fine. I am milk bottle blue too and one coat is only just noticeable on me. If I am going out I usually put it on the night before, then again in the morning then one last layer after my shower just before I go out. It takes about 3 hours to develop, leaves the skin soft and doesnt smell poo!

I am really pale too but I think it depends on your skin....Johnsons, Dove & Clinique are barely noticeable on me but my friend who is half Mauritian and has a dark skin tone already goes a fantastic colour with them..eh? I would ask around your friends and see who uses what and have a trial run without forking out for all of them. Clinique do do samples though. I use gloves to apply as never seemed to get my hands and nails completely clean and then there are water splashes taking the stuff off straight away! I wipe the product up to my wrists, take off the gloves and rub the back of my hands together with the product..works for me

i have used johnsons and dove before and i didnt like the results as it went streaky!! i have had a spray tan and it was awful. i was so orange i would never have one again!! i am going to go on the sunbed for a month before. i have used them in the past and never had any problems with them. i know people say they are dangerous but just sitting in the sun is dangerous and i dont really think there is much difference xx
