Is it true that for a tiara to look as best as possible that you have to have some height behind the tiara with the style that you choose? Anyone recommend any styles I have medium length hair and want some curl

You could always have it back combed a little to add some volume if you want it all down or half up and half down. I don't think that you have to have loads of hair up for it to look good as the photos I've looked at they haven't had masses of hair up behind the tiara.

If you have medium hair and you want it curling I would go for bigger loose curls that start further down than trying to get them to start higher up or you will find that your hair turns into a short bob.

Have you had a trial at your hairdressers? Take your tiara with you and see what you like! x

I sympathise - I have no idea what to do with my hair. Made an appointment to go try my dress on with veils and tiaras to try and give me an idea. I had the same thought that a tiara needs a little hair behind it, but I have seen some styles which are half up half down with a little height behind the tiara which look nice.

I think it depends on the size of the tiara too. If you don't think your hair would suit height, you could always have one of those headband style tiaras instead. They work quite well with smooth straight hair too.

Are you getting nervous? I'm sure you will decide soon. I play about with my hair at home to give me a rough idea of what suits my face and looks good. The tiara is just an accessory so make sure what ever you decide suits you rather than the tiara or you will regret it in years to come.

i am going to have the same problem. my tiara is bit unusal. its like a headband with design at the side. havnt explained that well at all!! i am having a veil aswell but will take it off after photos so will need to be able to take it off without ruining hair!!

i am having my trial at the end of the month. have a look on internet and get an idea of the type of styles you like to show the hairdresser xx

yep i'm having the same problem, i've booked to have my hair done on the wedding day and its the same hairdresser that did my sisters and us bridesmaids on her day so i know she's good, however she doesnt do trials because she thinks that one day it might go great and style easy and then when it comes to the day it might not look the same causing disappointment. i'm not worrying too much though my hair was nearly down to my bum when she styled it last time and she wasnt sure it would all go up into the neat little behive my sister wanted and she found it easier to do then the others. it just deciding on the hairstyle now.

i'm booking myself in for a wash cut and blowdry 2 weeks before the wedding with the same hairdresser so i can talk to her then and she knows what she has to content with. my hairs medium to long and the moment and i'm thinking of half up half down with loose curls and a side fringe which fingers crossed will be easy to do i'm opting for more of a headband style tiara so it should go with any hairstyle. theres just too many styles to choose from however if its raining i will definately be having it in an up do!!!
