I think if you can afford to give things away thats a nice thing to do or maybe try tree of gum and sell for a cut price at what they cost you and you are still helping other brides but at least re couping a little of what it cost you. xx
I have a gorgeous husband!
2 brilliant wonderful boys, a wonderful life
in Cornwall. Happiest woman ever!
Now making our house a home. Blessing 2014.

I sold all our baby things on tree of gum, like pushchair etc....our pushchair cost £280 but sold it for £30 ...glad we did rather than sell it on ebay or give to charity as the couple that bought it live round the corner to us and we now see them fairly often. They are on a tight budget and were absolutely overjoyed with finding a pushchair in such good condition for a low price. Made my day to actually meet the people and know that in a small way we had helped them...in fact I ended up giving them a few more items for nothing as her little boy is due in December and our little boy was a winter baby and we had so much newborn winter clothes. xx

Thats a really nice idea, I gave my tiara (from my 1st wedding) away at the weekend to my future SIL, I sold my veil on the bay & i've still got my dress on the bay, but it just won't sell, it's a Benjamin Roberts Design (cost my mom a fortune) so it grieves me really to give it away, but I know wot you been xx
you could give it to oxfam as they now have a wedding store online which sells wedding items, and as it's a charity then at least you know the money raised will be going somewhere worth while
Soon to be joined together as the Wheeler family, can't wait
Doing thing our way xxxx

That's a great idea, share the love and all that! However, I'm sure I've read somewhere it's bad luck for a bride to sell her wedding dress?
CommentAuthorLegoWife
I think that's a lovely idea. I think more people need to give away the things they don't need instead of trying to make something back from it. A site called free cycle is great for giving things away!

my best friend recently sold her wedding dress on the e to the bay and got £150 for her £750 dress. The lady who bought it had really struggled to find some1 in her area who had this dress in a plus size. But I do think ur idea is superb Sharon, what a lovely gesture that would be to someone on a tight budget. :) Nice to know there are such thoughtful people out there. x

i will have a look into the charity thing too, it does need a clean as it has a few dirty marks on the train and underneath but you cant see it. i got it off the bay as its a maggie sottero memories dress and had been discontinued i wanted it soooo bad and someone was selling it :) x

That's a really nice idea. I plan on keeping my dress but will probably sell everything else on the bay. I will put the money towards our 1st wedding anniversary and celebrate somewhere romantic.
