    Hi Ladies.

    I have 30 days until my final dress fitting and want to lose a stone in weight in that time. I have lost 4 and a half stone so far but need the final push.

    Sarah's 30 day weight loss challenge

    Starting weight 14 stone 8
    Target weight 13 stone 8 by 6th May 2011

    How will I achieve this?

    No eating carbs after 6pm
    1 hour of excercise every day
    8 glasses of water a day
    No sweets, crisps, biscuits in that time
    No seconds

    If anyone would like to join me on a 30 day diet challenge please post your targets and lets see what we can do.

    Funnily enough I need to lose a stone by the same date as you!
    I am 5ft 8 and 13 stone 7lbs today.
    I will not eat carbs after 6pm
    Will try to eat small meals or a healthy snack every 2 hours
    Exercise for 2 hours a day
    Cut out wine (big ask, lol)
    No sweets, crisps, cakes or biscuits

    And hopefully it will work!
    Been told that having a teaspoon of cinnamon every day can help your metabolic rate and avocado is essential for losing weight. I mash it up and spread it on rye bread topped with mackerel and a bit of lemon juice, sounds gross but is rather good! Good luck. x

    Avocado has alot of fat in it but its fills your belly up for longer well i think thats what ive heard anyway

    2 hours of excercise a day - go for it. What excercise do you do.

    I do Zumba on a mon, wed and fri and wii fit the other days. Might take up swimming once a week.

    I do the EA Active workout on the Wii which has a 30 day challenge option on it, and I walk every day for 40 minutes, and just waiting on a Wii Dance on Broadway disc which is in the post, so can't wait to have a good go on that! I don't go the gym though as don't have time with my toddler, but fingers crossed what I do at home will be enough!
    Avocados do have a lot of fat in them but essential fat, not like what you would get in a cake or something, lol. So it is ok to have one every other day. If you don't give your body essential fats you will find it hard to lose weight. x

    Im in lol im on a 1200 cal diet with less then 25g fat allowed daily.
    I want to drop 2 stone but ill go with the 30 day drop a stone to start with. So im 11st now but shh thats our secret lol good luck all xx

    Me!! I'll join up!! I would love to lose a few stone before my wedding but a stone by July so I'll try this 30 day challenge

    High Protein Diet, Low carbs (I don't get home usually till 6.30 so it will have to be low carb rather than no carb)
    Fruit and Veg
    Exercise every day for at least 1 hour, Wii, Gym, Swim
    No sweets, treats, crips etc!
    ALSO NO BREAD!!!!

    Start Date 7/4/11
    Start weight 10 st
    Target weight 9 st

    Let the weight loss commence!!!! :)

    i hate hate hate water so is it cheating to have a really weak orange juice( diluted one)

    i would love to join but im frightened to death of stepping on scales and tend to go by waistbands etc.

    im 5'10 and probably around 12 stone but would love to get back to my dancing weight of 9 & half stone, but thats not being realistic as i was only 20 then and didnt have back injury, got older or given birth!!! ive been having green tea drinks and bladderwrack tablets and there is a difference, im look and feel a touch more streamlined and last night my friend and i both started green tea tablets from H & B.

    so coupled with how i rush about every day, dog walking etc things should shift but my only vice is definately alcohol. i seriously need to glue the top onto my vodka bottle. xx

    I have lost almost 3 stone since joining slimming world but iv now left as I wanted to brave it on my own without the group.. I weigh my self on a wens so my diet week starts on a thursday.

    My goals for this week are:
    Gym atleast 3 times a week including 30 sit ups every day
    Smaller portion sizes
    Try to stop snacking inbetween meals and if i do snack do it on veg, salad or fruit

    Im currently 11 stone 9 pounds. really want to shift this 9 pounds in the next 30 days which is completely possible if i glue my hands behind my back lol. gonna give it my best shot :)x

    i did it on my own and went from 12st to 8st but without someone telling me off, i went back to nine Therefore, make sure you tell me off haha

    Yeah I'm in. i currently lost 1 stone in 3 and a half weeks (i really don't know how) but could do with the extra support from you lovely ladies. I have 15 weeks to be at my goal weight.......X

    I do ride horses but not as often as i'd like :(.

    Current weight :- 10st 4lbs
    Target weight :- 9st (if possible less)

    read Paul McKenna's book I can Make You Thin. (I bought mine at a supermarket, but don't remember which one)

    Eat what you're hungry for when you are actually hungry, stop when you're not hungry anymore.

    So many of us ignore our body's messages because we eat for other reasons - comfort, out of boredom etc.

    Iv found the best way to loose weight! I got a brace on my teeth last week,and cant bear to eat with it! Iv lost 5lb since last week! I will have straight teeth for my wedding and get slimmer! Yay! Well done to all of you doing so well!x

    I've just started to go to the gym and i'm honestly loving it :D i spend an hour there every day only started last week and already everybody has been saying how well i look :S I'm not sure if I've lost any weight and i won't know 'till Friday when i weigh myself, however i'm not really going by weight i'm going by inches i loose as i'm building up muscle which weighs more any way :(

    but i'm doing a low fat diet and it's perfect timing because of the weather, so lost of salads coming up lol. If i feel peckish between meals i munch on fruit a low fat yogurt or a cereal bar :D

    hello for new joiners.

    Can you please post your 30 day weight loss target (how many lbs) you do not have to put your starting weight down if you prefer not to. I am updating the front page with peoples targets so if you aren't there please make sure your target is noted.

    for those who are going by inches thats fine. Just say how many inches you would like to lose in the time if you want to be on the update bit.

    Am going to close the joining places tonight so everyone who wants to be in for the 30 day challenge please post tonight stating your target.

    I have done half hour excercise today and had a yoghurt and a can of soup so the challenge is ON!!!

    Hi ladies, id love to join too. i dont have any motivation by myself.
    i joined the gym with my brother a couple of months back but have to go b4 2pm as i got a cheaper deal as i wasnt working, but then couldnt find the motivation. ive now got a job as a post lady so will be walking loads carrying heavy bags so i hope this will work!! im also going to set up my wii again and get rid of all the dust and cobwebs!!

    my weight changes on a daily bases from 11st 5 to 11st. i have quite broad shoulders so i dont want to lose to much off my boobs but hoping to lose weight off my middle and legs - thunder thighs are not my friends!

    so start weight today is 11 st 3
    goal weight 10 1/2 st. not much but im quite tall.

    so 10lbs.

    i have done my hours exercise but then i messed up :( the ice cream man was there and i couldnt resists. Anyone know how many calories are actually in an ice cream?? x

    do 1 hour exercise every night
    eat salads for dinner
    and try not to eat anything after 6pm, but its a bit difficult with my shifts

    I would like to join.
    I am hoping to lose weight by eating 1200 cals a day, and doing at least 5 miles a week walking (usually its more like 10)
    I was 12 stone this morning (already lost 3 lbs last week) and i also do a shred workout once a week, and i am trying to do 100 bicycle crunches a day.(so far i have not kept to it, only done about 50 a day) so hopefully on here i will be able to keep to it.

    My target weight i must have lost at least 7 lbs (as by mid june when i go for final dress fitting i want to be in the 10 stone range)


    As for all those who are not for eating after 6, and worrying they might not stick to it due to shift patterns etc. Eating after 6 will not aske you lose less weight than eating before, the only reason people suggest it is that many who eat after this time are snacking out (they have had dinner and just want a bowl of cereal etc) If you are on shift work ie. 2x morning 2x 2-10 and 2 night shifts(this is my OH rota - and i have put him on diet lol) the mornings he has a normal day, the 2-10 he has dinner when he comes home, a sandwich while at work and a bowl of cereal before he leaves, their by moving breakfast till 1,lunch till 5 and dinner at 10, is similar to a normal day.And helps him not pig out after comming home from work. His night shift again changes "breakfast" at around 3 (depending when he wakes up) a nice walk at 8-9 to get some cardio in before a meal and then a sandwhich or " lunch type meal" while at work.
    He has managed to lose nearl half a stone over the past 2 weeks, so it does work... Dont worry if you cant stick to the nothing after 6 rule.

    me please! Im 10st 12 and i want to lose 12lbs before the wedding. I have around 2 and a half months but would really love to push it to 9st 10.. Doubt it but i like a challenge!

    just did an hour on the wii so that is 1 and a half hours excercise today. Found the free step on wii fit and did half an hour step while watching Hollyoakes - easy way to get a bit extra in and not miss my soaps.

    my htb is on a weight gain diet so hes just constantly eating lol its such a pain though hes eating all my favorite things and i cant have it but im powering through thinking of the 2 stone ive gotta loose and my beautiful dress.

    i would like to join ladies if thats ok. im 5ft6 and im currently 11st 4lb so i would like to lose 14lb give or take a few lol.

    i promise to exersice an hour each day and walk norman (dog)
    no carbs after 6
    no biscuits/sweets/fizzy juice/cut down alcohol (which is hard)lol
    more healthy lunch and dinners

    Can I join please? I don't need to lose loads. I lost lots of weight last year, because of illness, (which isn't good) however since then, it's slowly crept up and I've only just noticed. I want to cut out all junk/snacks and excercise everyday.

    Last time I weighed myself I was 8st 2lb, which might not sound like a lot, but I'm teeny tiny (5ft and a bit) and every pound shows. My ideal weight according to my BMI should be 7st 11st, so that's what I'm aiming for. :)

    I am just back from doing almost 2 hours walking, plus i did 2 hours walking earlier on today with the dogs. So all in thats around 8 miles or so today.

    lizzy, im 5ft 6 too, in my mind i would like to be under 11st and ideally around 10 1/2. do you know what the bmi weight is for our height? i lost alot of weight last yr as i was out the country in hot places and cant eat when its hot but thought i looked really boney around the top of my chest. i just want to lose it off my legs and belly!!

    feeling like i can actually do it properly this time with everyones help. i can lose weight pretty quickly when i dont eat but as soon as i start eating again i pile it on (which i know isnt healthy!!). ive always hated the gym and cant seem to get into a routine but ive always wanted to. ive also been told by mum (i think she was trying to scare me into eating) that if you dont eat you get hairy, haha. it worked!! stress from my MIL2B caused me to lose weight too but i want to be fitter now aswell, i can walk up the stairs and be out of breath.

    thanks for starting this discussion i feel quite positive at the mo!! will see in a week when i havent had my chocolate!! xx

    Wow what dedication, You need a proper diet and exercise plan, by using shakes as meal replacements, and by doing at least one hour of exercise every day. Cycling is very good, uses all muscle groups, and your body will get used to it and have ni ill effects. i wanted to loose 10 pounds in three weeks for our engagment party, and did so, without the dieting just hard exercise.

    We have the group. Do you want to join in john? the only issue i have with the meal replacements is that it is about eating nothing. I don't get how it teaches healthy eating. One of my work colleagues did severe lighter life. Had no food for 4 months and lost 5 stone but she looks ill. My way may have taken longer but I feel great and have dramatically changed my eating but in a sustainable way. She is now back to normal eating but I have noticed the weight is starting to go back.

    Hmmm think h2b may be sabotaging. He made peanut butter cookies last night so I had to try a bit. He has surprised me with breakfast in bed this morning - he made American pancakes from scratch with honey. Bless him he is so sweet but I will have to have a word
