I got my braces off about 6 years ago and my goodness I don't forget the pain! My teeth are a bit crowded at the front again because my retainer broke and they wouldn't give me a replacement but I wouldn't do it again, that's for sure lol x

i'd love to have my teeth whitened i have a crown on one of my front teeth and you can tell its different to the others and you can sometimes see the metal post that its attached to, unfortunately cant afford to have them done so will just have to let the professionals do the magic on the wedding photos lol x

had braces when I was a teenager, awful pain every 3 weeks going to get it tightened! Well worth it though as I now have perfectly straight teeth.

Considering having them whitened before the wedding, at the NEC wedding show they were doing it for £79!

I'm looking at whitening too! I was lucky as a child I never had braces, my dentist decided in my case to remove teeth instead and let the others then spread out ...in total I had 12 out,(a mixture of baby teeth and adult teeth to create the space) ... They are pretty straight now, just wish they were whiter :-)

I had braces for 4 years but as soon as I was onky wearing my retainer at night they moved so not exactly straight. I was considering whitening before the wedding but I have quite white teeth anyway so may now. The pain never goes really, you just become used to it!

I was tempted to get mine straightened before the wedding as I have the same issue - overcrowding but i have made the decision not too. As my dentist is private, it would have cost alot and with the wedding to pay for i opted against. I wish id looked into it a long time ago though :)

Straightening sounds painful; I had a brace for years (every type imaginable...) and my teeth are fine now; my jaw has fell back a bit but mostly ok.

I would like mine straighened as i had a brace when i was younger and were straigh but in the years since have slowly gone back expecialy my 2 top front teeth! , but also need them whitened! As they are really yellow due to not eating barely any veg or calcium stuff when i was younger, am currently tryin whitening tooth paste but have not seen alot of change !

my teeth are definitely stressing me out #;( i have a problem with my front teeth which means some are eroding from the tops at the gumline i brush religiously but its making it worse, unfortunately i dont have a dentist and couldnt afford one if i did! i also have a hug chip out of my fron tooth leaving a jagged gap it looks awful and really gets me down ~:/ i looked at buying a "snap on" smile but a decent one will cost atleast £350 and it seems i wont get it within budget as i had first hope which is a real shame as i know it means no smiling in photos. hate the changes they made in dental services where i live the nearest nhs dentist is 30 miles away and has a waiting list approx 400 people long!! even my children have never seen a dentist tleast i did see one til i was 16 or i imagine i may have none left :/

One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

I narrowly avoided braces as a child because my dentist removed teeth from each side to make space. I do have a bit of staining but I'm not too bothered about it. I might see a hygienist though and see what they can do.

I've just finished my Invisalign braces and they have worked amazingly! I'm so glad I did it! Now I don't have to think twice before smiling!

I'll be honest and say when I first started it a year ago, after about the 2nd day of having them they hurt so much I really thought I'd made a terrible mistake and that It wasn't going to be worth it and that it would be a ware of money! I remember siting on the bathroom floor sobbing as they were so sore! But after a couple of weeks it got easier and easier unil it was only the day each few weeks I had a new set so they were tighter that they hurt and that was only for a day.

Stick with lovely lady, it'll be soooo worth it in the end I promise! Ill never regret doing it! xx good luck

A word of warning about whitening though. My dentist said it would take two weeks and be fjnished for the wedding! It is not! They are a bit whiter but patchy which is annoying! Although that hurt for more than having the braces! It was horrendous, really sharp pains waking me up in the night, I was in a real state! But my bridesmaid had it done last year and it worked really well! Both of us through the dentist both using polanight. So just be prepared, clearly it suits some a not others! I checked with the dentist and I was doing as I should, just didn't work for me!

I'm glad it's not only me worrying about smiling on the big day! I've never been a fan of my smile (which is a shame because I smile a lot!) and I've always said I would get whitening and veneers before my wedding. I'm planning on getting the next June (just in time for my 30th birthday) and I really can't wait to smile without automatically putting my hand over my mouth :) x

I've had mine whitened - did it for 14 days (though not every night I'll be honest) and you could tell the difference the first night... and both my two front teeth are crowns... the whitening took them up 4 shades lighter (and matched the crowns) - looks amazing. But there was no pain at all. will probably give them a go just before big day.. well worth it I reckons.....

I've had mine done - used something very similar to invisalign. Sooo nearly at the end and I can't wait. Like you though I was in SO much pain every time I put a new aligner in. I used something called Oragel or Oralgel, the extra strength. It numbed all my gums and made it slightly bearable!
It's so nice to see photos of myself now and not automatically hate them because of my teeth.. it will all be worth it and the pain is soon forgotten! :-)

Im defo looking into whitening. I had to have one of my back "big teeth" lol i dont know what you call them, taken out due to over crowding and i remember how much that hurt!
