hi i am having a civil ceremony and my mum likes it if at a wedding the guests sing a hymn but obviously as it a civil ceremony i can not have a hymn so need a song.

I know everyone has their different tastes etc, but personaly I would feel very odd singing a pop song at a wedding etc. hymns,by definition are religious songs, so techincally you arent going to find a non- religious hymn per say. There MUST be something out there that would be suitable though.

hmmm, that would be unusual, i've never been to a civil ceremony where we sang a song. I'd not thought of guests singing as I'm pants at singing lol I'm just sticking to readings at ours, and the quartet tinkling out their tunes. If they sing along though that's great :) x

we would like a song too but have struggled with finding one that suits as we would of prefered a hymn like one? sorry not much help here xx

thats ok im not really bothered about a song for guests to sing but my mum does. will just have to say to her that we not having one. xx
