Blue - the dress shop sewed a blue ribbon into the underside of the dress

Still struggling with something old, but I told my mum if I couldn't think of anything, I would just claim I was taking her (She has that sort of sense of humour :-) )

we are. dont forget the sixpnece.

old - great grandmothers necklace in my flowers
    new - my dess
borrowed - still not sorted this one yet cus i dont know what to borrow
    blue - i do stickers
sixpence in her shoe - dads putting it in my shoe but not leaving it in there cus that would just drive me nuts, gunna try fit it into the bow. but traditionally it comes from scotland where the groom would put a sixpence in his own shoe so we've got one each just to make sure.

You can buy a sixpence from lots of places. About £5 from hobbycraft with a bit of paper with the rhyme written on, or ebay around £1 for just the coin in a little plastic bag.

I think it's perfectly ok to combine them. Generally the something borrowed and old comes from mothers, mil, grandmothers, aunts, etc. Ask around, someone is bound to have something you can use.

My colour theme is blue, so the blue shoes I'm planning on buying will cover that. Something old will be my wedding ring, and my charm bracelet too, as I got that when I was a baby, so it's ancient now haha, something new... Id imagine would be the dress... but if I buy one off the bay, Im not sure if that counts hahaha.

Something borrowed is the one I'm having issues with...

This was what I was thinking:

Something Old: My engagement ring (given to me by my nan, which was her auntie's ring)
    Something New: My dress
Something Borrowed: I'm thinking of borrowing my mum's pearl necklace, it's very simple and elegant
Something Blue: Not a clue! Do my eyes count?

Something Old: A silver, marcasite and onyx locket
    Something New: My dress
Something Borrowed: Here is where I am stuck, I do feel a bit rude looking at my friends and family for something nice I can borrow off them, but I am starting to think it might be better than waiting for someone to offer and not being able to turn down something horrid
Something Blue: I am getting a blue garter and my engagement ring has a Blue Violet Tanzanite

Oooh, attaching blue ribbon to the inside of the dress, I would never have thought of that. My something old and borrowed is going to be the same thing, my mum's broach, which I believe was was grandmas. I'm going to attach it to the bouquet ribbon, but on the side that faces me, so no-one else can see it-it doesn't go with the wedding theme at all!

I don't think I'm actually going to do this, I just don't really see how it will make a difference to my wedding day, apart from make me do things I don't really want to do just because someone years and years and years ago started it all lol I don't want a sixpence in my shoe, I want a garter but don't really want a blue one... Just seems unnecessary to make me do things I wouldn't normally do lol but this just my opinion xxxx
