We have decided we want a wedding with only 30 attendees for both the ceremony and celebrations after. We would like the whole thing to be held in the same venue. We also want a 3 course meal plus a drink for everyone including kids. I was wondering how much I should expect to pay? I don't have any clue what venues cost so want to be sure I get a fair price. Also any suggestions of venues in Essex or near East London (my guests need to be able to travel easily from London so nowhere as far as seaside areas). We do not want a registry office, church hall, church...something picturesque instead.

All depends on what time of year- mud summer talking anywhere from £80-£200pp depending on venue
Some places will charge to hire a venue and then good on top- some hotels have free room hire snd then a higher £pp
Each venue foes differ hugely and yiu can get for as cheap or expensive as you like
Best idea is to search venues online, vies them and collate prices
Not much help

Really difficult to say how much you should expect to pay as every venue is different. A lot of places charge on a per head basis. I would expect children to be a lower price than adults though. Many packages can be altered with things added or taken away to suit what you want. X

I would look on places like gr0up0n, they do some good deals for small wedding parties,

Thank you, I didn't think of that site I will definitely keep checking it incase something comes up. I don't think it would be right to spend 5000+ for only 30 guests...what I have been quoted so far!
That seems a lot of money for that amount of guests. We paid about that altogether for everything for 90!!! That was ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast, drinks, room for two nights.

Just looked at a few venues and they are expensive round there- I just saw a lovely mansion called fEnn3s

Yes you're right that is a lovely venue. I wish I could use a venue further out but some of my guests don't drive and others are elderly so it needs to be somewhere close for them to easily travel to.

Hopefully indreamland will be on at some point, she lives in that area so might be able to help.

Also, just a thought, if you went slightly further out, could mean much cheaper prices, that way it might be worth looking st hiring a bus to take everyone?

we have 49 day guests and 70 evening guests. midweek in june. its costing us £2,000 for the venue including 3 course meal, evening buffet, welcome drinks, dj, room for the night with breakfast in the morning, table centrepieces, table linen, menu tasting and we get a 3 month gym membership with that aswell. our venue is in leeds.

Wow that's a really good deal. I'm struggling to find a venue for 30 people in total. I keep asking for quotes as well and all I get are invitations to view the venues..bit of a waste of time if they're gonna be out of my budget by thousands :(

M@rble hill house London looks stunning, fits 40 people, too :-)

Just seen this.
I live in the area you're looking for.
Try Mu1b3rry H0u53, easy short taxi ride from Epping station on the central line. Alternatively there is the K1ng5 0@k H0t31 in High Beach which is in Epping Forest so a lovely setting. That is a quick easy taxi ride from either Loughton or Theydon Bois stations on the central lines.
There's also P@ckf0rd5 H0t31 in Woodford, again on the central line.

Another option is H@yw@rd5 restaurant which is on the edge of the forest so it is a gorgeous location and the food and service there is faultless. They can accommodate a maximum of 40 guests. Don't think though they do civil ceremonies as doubt they're licensed for it but Epping registry office is literally 5 minutes drive down the road. Again the venue is no more than a 10 minute taxi ride from Epping station or Theydon Bois station.

We got married on a weekday so it made it a little cheaper, have you thought about doing this?
We had approx 40 guests and it worked out at approx £2500, then we had other things to add such as table decorations, chair covers, etc. Overall we had a lovely day and it didn't feel budget, we really just saved because it wasn't held on a weekend day.
Our entire day was held at the same place. We had to pay extra to hire the room to get married in, but the buffet and evening reception was still part of the price I mentioned above.
We're in South Yorkshire, not sure about prices further south, hope it helps.

Thanks in dreamland I will definitely be looking into these venues although MH's brochure doesn't seem to work so I can't get info on that one. LindseyW58 I have selected a week day in October hoping this might make things cheaper but prices are still extremely steep I guess living near London is just unlucky.
