Ohhh ladies I keep reading this post and its giving me so much motivation! One question if possible. Is peanut butter classed as a syn and how many points is it? I cant start the day without peanut butter on a piece of oatilicious toast (makes the best toast ever) and although I spread it lightly, Im aware it is quite high in cals. xxx

It has got loads of recipes for red days and green days, 7 day kick start diet and a syns list and heaps more. I just gotta figure out now what is a red day and what is a green day! lol

will give it a go before spending £60 signing up for 3 months online. Oh if anybody is going to join weight watchers, sign up via quidco. Its £32 for 3 months, but you get £30 cash back!

Linzi, you may want to give your local group's consultant a call, they work slightly differently for shift workers in the way you pay I think - sure it would be worth asking.

My consultant gave us a fab recipe for a "curried loaf" that's syn free on EE and is really easy to make. You just make up one sachet of savoury rice (any flavour) and add to it a tin of chick pea dahl, stir well then pour into a loaf tin and bake in the oven until set. It's best left to cool completely as then it will slice easier. I think it's gorgeous :)

For all who are on facebook - there is an offical slimming world group on there and the members regularly upload pics and recipes. I've found it brilliant for sweet recipes :)

Does anyone know if muller lights are free or how many syns they are? Can't find them in my book! I have been actually pretty hungry today despite having pasta and couscous (more carbs than I normally do) but I did snack on fruit instead of chocolate so thats good. Can so many carbs be good for you?

Don't let that throw you for the rest of the week thought hun, as my consultant always say, take that as a slip and just get straight back on it today - and never feel guilty for going above your syns, just try and plan any extras ahead of time instead x

thats what flexi syns are for you can set a target of how many you are going to go over on a day and then reduce the rest of your week to claim some back never see it as a bad thing else you will setting yourself up to fail i always ask myself if i enjoyed it and if the answer is yes ( which it always is ) lol i get straight back onto the plan again without worrying xx

Twirler, we were told that the flexible syns part has changed because people were falling off the wagon completely trying to keep some to one side for a specific day. We had it explained that the flexi syns are now on top of your daily allowance - for instance if you knew you were going out for a meal you wouldn't change the 5-15 syns a day for any of the rest of the week, including that day, but you work out approximately how many syns the meal would need, including any drinks - and to be very realistic - and then try and stay within that for that one meal.

yea, i think it is just going to take a couple weeks to get used to it. yesterday it was my cereal, left over pasta from the day before, so tiny bit of sauce and 2 grilled lincolnshire sausage's. would have had one if i had worked it out properly. with them i had new pots and runner beans.

today for bkfast i had a muller light yoghurt.
lunch will be jack pot and baked beans
dinner, grilled pork chops, new pots and veg.

then ive got some ham and laughing cow triangles for snakes during the day.

Do you think that sounds ok? xx

When I started I used to flounder and get upset thinking there was nothing I could snack on, but there are alternatives. For a chocolate fix, try a couple of ryvita spread with 1 tbspn nutella - ryvita are a healthy extra b and the nutella is 4 syns - much less than having an actual chocolate bar! For crisps, try monster munch for 7 syns. There are also loads of recipes online with variations on what you would normally eat x

I don't like many of the b options either, but the kellogs cereal bars (one bar a day) are actually really nice and a good alternative to chocolate.

I have put a sign that says self-control on the door of our 'calorie cupboard' and then the fruit bowl right below it on the unit and that has really helped me today.
