I bought my dream shoes off ebay, and they arrived today. They are benjamin adams gaga, and oh my god they are lush. Problem is, im a size 5.5 and these are a size 6, and are loose. I tried a size 5 on in a shop, and they were very snug, and i think they might have ended up rubbing me. So ladies, any ideas on how I can make these shoes a little bit smaller??

Insoles :) the memory foam ones you get from primark come in white and black. I pop them in all my slightly larger shoes and they keep my feet very comfy, and my shoes on my feet!

They're not strappy, so that may be an idea. I was thinking that maybe insoles might help, but there is no side on the inside of the shoes, so I think insoles may show. Aargh!

I just remembered I was going to try to put in those Scholl gel pads - tgey also do pads for the heel and toes - maybe padding all around stops me from slipping. The only problem is with my shoes - the inside is velvety so those gel pads are not going to stick...

You could maybe cut the instep out so it's hidden under your foot?

Yes indeedy, insoles in primark for only £1! I have dozens of pairs haha. I usually am okay with shoes but I find that with certain style of shoes the tiny difference between my feet means one shoes fits while the other rubs from being too big.

Gel inserts can also help, especially if you pop spare pairs in the fridge to replace during the night! If it's just a few mm of difference, experiment to see what's comfy.

I have troubled feet - bigger size with insoles to stop me from slipping out would do me a world of good. Not just on my wedding day :-)

heel grips - you put them in the heel of your shoe and it stops your foot from slipping out. You can buy them from Clarks for about £2 a pair xxx

I have Gagas too! I'd suggest maybe cutting a pair of insoles so they just fit half of the shoe so you don't see them, or maybe at the arch you could cut into them a bit so only your foot can be seen not the insole? Only prob is that as the inside of the shoe is kid leather, one of the benefits is that as you wear them they will mould to your foot shape so will be uber comfy but you won't get that if you cover the sole with an insole....

i got some of those gel insoles that just went under the balls of my feet - worked a treat. If you need a bit more padding than that and don't have sandles, then yyou can use animal wool - available from all good dance shops and probably chemists too. It's what we use to pad ballet pointe shoes ;)

I have the same problem with my jimmys in that I have little feet and the smallest they do is a 3 which are too big even though most of my shoes are a 4 grrrr. However, someone suggested to me memory foam insoles and so I will be trying those so hopefully they may work for you. If you do get them, let me know how they work x

Scholl do a gel insole that is only the size of the alls of you feet and a leather heel grip I have used these as I have really small feet so struggle with a size three heel and they made my shoes really snug.

insoles can make up to 1/2 size difference. Enjoy. For peep toes/strappy shoes cut a moon shape out at the big toe. For open sides cut a moon shape out at instep. Just trim so you can't see. But don't forget when they are under your foot you shouldn't be able to see much at all.

Mine are a bit big too. But I'm thinking after wearing them for a while my feet will swell a bit - usually happens when I'm in heels. That and insoles are my plan! x
