Now that my wedding is approaching six months and Im due to pick up dress tomorrow theres been alot of family discussion around the plans, the day and general organization etc! I would imagine that the majority of Brides 2b on here are keeping their wedding dress a secret (apart from wedding party prehaps)...well thats what Ive done and have only shown it to my mum, and 2 of my BM's.
My MIL2b and other immediate inlaws havnt asked about my dress as yet however i anticipate that they may in the near future! Personally I would like to keep this a secret from them however will reveal all if I thought it wouldnt make them feel uninvolved etc. Is it usual for this side of family to know what your dress looks like? What r u girls doing?

I showed my MIL and FIL 2 be a picture of me in the dress before any alterations were done!!! But no one has actually seen my dress or seen the actual fitted version of the dress on me apart from my mum, my dad and my MOH!! xx

When i went and picked my dress, i went with my H2B auntie and my 2 flower girls mum! they are the only people who have seen it so far, and the only other people who will see it will be my bridesmaid when we are all in the shop together!! other people have asked but i have told them to wait and see!!! xx

Hi, Before the wedding I wanted to keep my dress secrete for everybody including my famaly, but my MIL and her syster p***** me off so much about it that I had to show them. What realy drive me made was they didn't want to see it to be involve, they wanted to see it to make sure that it suite to their criteria and what they were expecting for their son and nephew. I though it was normal that everyone had the surprise. It is your day, so try to do it as you want unless it starts creating relationship problem, then show it.

I brought my dress with my MIL and my MOH and mum came to one o the fittings. other then that i did show it to anyone who asked.... apart from husband. Imy mate got maried a few months ago and kept it a secret from everyone...!! I think its down to personal choice. If you want it to be a secret then you should honey. x x

No one has seen or will see mines until the day apart from my Mum and Sister. Loads of people have asked but I just say you will see on the day. xx

I bought my dress with just my mum, so only she has seen it so far, but I know my BMs and two other close friends are going to want to see it once I go for fittings etc - but in theory I want to keep it as much a secret as possible, I've spent a lot of money on the bad boy and want people to say "WOW" on the day!!!! I swore I woudn't have a vail, but then I tried on a waste length one and loved it, so thats mine and mums little secret - so even the BMs will be surprised at that!!!

MrsHoward2B I was the same with a veil I had said from day one nope dont want one and I tried one on the shop down to floor leverl and I loved it. I love it as much as my dress. xx

Only my mother and one bridesmaid have see me in my dress, the other two know which one I picked. No one else is to see it!
I won't know what my wedding ring will look like until the day, but I know Pidge has shown it to other people, which hurts slightly. I've asked him not to show it!
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

my mum dad stepmum and 2 grown up bridesmaids have seen my dress no-one else is allowed!! i'd keep it a secret my moh mum will see it soon as i'm keeping it at her house as she lives 2 mins round the corner

My MoH and her daughter have seen mine so far when I chose it. My mum will see it when I have the alterations and my other bridesmaid will see it before the day too. But that's it, no one on h2b's side will see it.

My mum has the pictures of me in my dress so i think the following people have seen it, me, my mum, my bm's, my aunt (bm's mum), my mil (as we went veil shopping together - she's got two sons so no chance to have a girly time!) and anyone else my mum's shown pictures to so prob most of her dept, the cleaner, the milkman etc etc!

My mum,dad and nan-also my son and daughter(who laughed!) I did tell my bm that she could see it-but after we got her dress and i specifically told her NOT to tell anyone what it was like-and then she showed half the people at work a picture-I have now told her that as punishment she won't see it til the day! (she gets a bit over-excited and can't keep her mouth shut!) x

not a chance in hell of me showing my dress before the big day,my whitness has seen it so has my daughter and my daddy,,my mums wants to see it in all its glory on the day complete with hair and make up,,so nope im keeping it under wraps
