I have really rubbish skin for healing and my legs are covered in scars from mosquito bites.
If I don't scratch a bite it turns into a really long gravel rash type scab down my leg/arms so I HAVE to scratch them to prevent them from doing so. The thing is my skin is seems to be allergic to the bite and the skin "pulls away" from it leaving a hole similar to a cigarette burn.
They leave really bad scars that don't fade for about a year and a half and I get bitten to death every summer.
I have tried insect repellents which havn't worked for me and I am allergic to citronella. I am really worried about the scars I have already and I will be trying various methods to minimise them but I could really do with any input of how to stop the suckers getting me this summer because the scars they leave this year - are going to be the scars I have for the wedding day!!!

You can get varius sprays to put on your body to repel them from your body and they can still smell nice so your not repelling your guests lol :)

Bio oil is supposed to be brilliant at reducing scars etc ... it's a bit expensive but worth it if it works x

I'v used that cupcake. It works but boots do a serum like one half the price and works twice as good. Iv got a 6 inch scar on my arm from an operation I had. It took it to angry purple to coffee coloured within 9 weeks! it really is good. x

A few ideas to try, apply an aromatic oil such as cedar or crushed orange peel onto your body paying particular attention to areas on your body where blood vessels are nearer to the surface, avoid stimulants like coffee or sugar as these get processed and then leave through the skin and mosquitos can sense the smell and avoid scented personal products or deodorants as the scent attracts the mosquito. For existing mosquito bites tee tree oil works wonders. xx

As Kirsty said. Avon skin so soft, in particular the soft and fresh ones (the green bottles). Anything in the range helps, including the shower gels. xx

Skin So Soft is by far the best insect repellent I have ever come across. Its just a moisturiser sold by Avon but it works a treat. Don't kow how to minimise the scars you already have though hun xx

I get bitten alot too, and to make it worse I'm allergic to them! I get really awful blisters and they swell up loads and get poorly qiute quick if I get bitten several times. To prevent getting bitten I dont wear perfume in summer, use a neutral scented deodorant (nothing floral), I use the source lemon and tea tree shower gel, avoid floral or sweet smelling shampoo/ conditoner (I use tresseme doesnt really smell much) and I also take garlic capsules and an antihistamine as back up incase I do get bitten. Insect repellants seem to attract them more (for me anyway), the only one I found that is any use is superdrugs own tropical strength pump spray. Hope this helps I actually managed two holidays this year without getting bitten using the above, it has taken several years of trial and error but (touch wood) I think I have cracked it.
